1 year!
I had my original surgery in February 2015, and although there was an improvement, it wasn't as drastic as I had hoped. I was very thin and didn't have much fat to transfer. Also, I lost a LOT of volume over the first few months. I'm still not sure why- I did my best to stay off of it and avoided sitting for months. I would have been good with that except that there was a flat spot on my left side where the fat didn't "take", and doc really wanted to help me to fix it. I told him it doesn't bother me so much but he said it bothered him and that we should fix it :)
So in July 2015 I had a second surgery to fill that left side a bit more. He took more from my waist, did my arms, and also the back of my upper thighs. The lipo of my waist and the fat injection was on him- I paid to do the extra in arms and thighs because I wanted to get as much as possible. Immediately after surgery it looked great! But after a few months, again the left side deflated. I was sooooo sad!! There was also a spot on the back of my right thigh where too much fat was removed and the skin became wrinkly. He offered to fix it for me, but after so many surgeries (2 :) already, I wasn't sure I wanted to. Then a few more months went by and I gained 15 pounds (totally unrelated to the surgeries- it was hormonal), but I then had a ton of fat on me. So I met with Doc again in January of this year (2016) and the first thing he noticed was that I gained weight. He said that if I wanted these areas fixed, we should take the fat while I have it. So we decided to do round 3. This time taking from my stomach, love handles and bra fat to even everything out. My 3rd surgery was on February 5, 2016 and lasted 2 hours. He was able to take out 600cc- after he fixed the spot on my left side and the right thigh, there was still 250cc remaining so he put the rest on both sides of my butt.
The recovery was a breeze. By day 2, I was completely normal. I even went back to work on day 4. It has only been two weeks but I LOVE how it looks. Attached is a photo I took yesterday when trying on clothes. I have a small waist and curvy hips, which is what I've been hoping for.
I can't say enough good things about my doctor. He really does guarantee his work and makes sure every patient is happy. He takes his time with each person- at no time did it feel like he was all about business.
I only hope that my shape STAYS my shape. I don't want to lose any more of it.
IMO, it was worth it. Three surgeries later and I still think it was worth it. :)
I'm not sure what's going on with my left side that it was so reluctant to take the fat correctly. I think people's different results totally depends on their body's willingness to accept what's going on. I know that most people cannot afford to go through multiple surgeries to get the results they're looking for. I highly recommend finding a surgeon who does guarantee their work and will stick with you until you're happy. It might be a slightly higher price but it will be worth it in the end.
Losing results quickly!!
2 months post. Possible round two discussed with doc.
Since my appointment I've noticed that my right side is also losing a ton of volume, so I'm not sure what to do now. The fat transferred to my labia didn't stick AT ALL- after two months it looks just like it did before. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Sigh.
Provider Review
I can't say enough good things about Dr. S. He's originally from the mainland but he's so full of aloha. He shows interest in you as a person, and spends time getting to know you both before and after surgery. He's got so much experience and is a total perfectionist. He will work with you to make sure that you (and he!) are 100% happy with the outcome. A lot of surgeons forget about their patients after the surgery is performed but Dr. S schedules follow-up appointments with all of his patients for months following the surgery (at no additional cost) just to make sure everything is going ok. I never got the feeling that he was all about business- he genuinely cares. Plus he's got a great sense of humor :) The only downside is the wait times at his office. I've probably had at least 25 appointments over the last year, and my average wait time has been about an hour. The longer wait times are because he spends so much time talking with his patients and will take the time to answer any questions that they have, so that they don't feel rushed. In my opinion, he's totally worth the wait.
