I needed something specific done for a specific goal in a timely manor. I chose this doctor because of all the amazing reviews on every website that has reviews about him. He was not the only one I consulted with. I paid some other doctor $65.00 to tell me that he can't give me what I was asking for. Dr. Schlesinger assessed me, and then confidently told me that he could give me what I wanted. I have to admit. He is confident to the point of arrogance, but once you hear and see his other patients in the office waiting room, once you see your own results, you will understand why. Every member of his staff has had work done by him and are happy to tell you all about their experiences and therefore also understand what you are going through.They would tell me things like: oh, don't worry, I felt numb too and the itching drove me nuts but it will go away, or, hey just so you know, there will be a period of doubt and depression after the surgery, but don't worry, it's perfectly normal and if you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to call or come in. Their advice was very helpful because when I did experience these things, I remembered them telling me about it, so I was able to keep calm and positive about it. I was treated with kindness, respect and made to feel that I was a valued customer through the entire process. Dr. Schlesinger likes to joke around with his staff and with you, but he takes his work very seriously. He holds his staff to high expectations. After my procedure, one of the nurses made a mistake and she was trying to laugh it off, and he was quick to straiten her out right then and there. He gave me extra creams, dmso, and even some extra medicine to help my healing process all on his dime. He also had me stay the night at the surgical facility to be monitored because he felt it was necessary. Since the over-night stay was not planned, he did not charge me for it. It's clear that he sees it as his responsibility to see the process to the end. He made my goal, his goal. The other doctor tried to talk me into getting all kinds of other treatments, and even a meal replacement plan they offer. He told me that I needed a tummy tuck. Dr. Schlesinger did not even mention any other procedures, not once. I even brought up possibly getting other procedures done. He said, ok. and that was it. There was no selling whatsoever. When I was nervous before the procedure, his anesthesiologist came to talk to me. I felt like my questions were silly, I felt the need to tell him not to forget anything, and he took me seriously and didn't make me feel like some piece of meat lying on the table. It's kind of scary to think about how you will be lying unconscious on a table with these people cutting you up and what not, so you want to have a good feeling about it, a good gut feeling. You're spending a lot of money and putting your body and life in the hands of these people so chose wisely. I can say without hesitation that Dr. Schlesinger is a wise choice. If I ever need any work done again while I'm here, I will be going strait to him. I am a regular person, a mom and I was not paid or asked to write this. I did this of my own accord because him and his staff deserve the credit.
