My original review must be lost in cyberspace cause I thought I hit submit but it's worth re-writing. I have struggled with my body image all my life and it has impacted and taken a huge toll emotionally. Being in my twenties, I should not feel desperate to hide myself especially since I only weighed 130 pounds. I have spent countless of money on fad diets, and had even resorted to starvation methods during college and still unable to get rid of the fat around my stomach and back. I was misshapen thanks to poor genetics.
I have read countless hours of liposuction material over the years and finally made a consultation with Dr. Larry Schlesinger. My friend who took care of me during the first 48 hours of surgery had asked why I chose him and not a doctor back in Boston where I'm originally from per se and my answer was not the 5 star reviews he received from patients on websites like real-self but his responses to real-self members that weren't even his clients in other states. It just so happen I noticed after reading his first response to a submitted question by a user that I had searched on this website for that his office was located only 10 minutes away. The information he provided was not only informative but advocating for the patient with honesty. The more I read his responses to other users, I realized I wanted him to perform my surgery.
During, my initial consult I found him to be straightforward and confident in his artistic abilities. The staff made scheduling my surgery effortless and three weeks after my initial consult I had the surgery performed. He managed to take the maximum amount possible during surgery and considering I didn't weigh much he proved to be a true perfectionist!
Tonight, I had one of my many follow-ups with Dr. Schlesinger and I managed to lose a total of 4 pounds and 22 inches! It has only been 2 weeks since surgery and I think a big part of the recovery is contributed to the recommended bi-weekly ultrasounds performed by his staff which helped reduce the swelling and bruising. I am already looking forward to my appointment next week to see what the numbers will be. One of my biggest fears and hesitations was the thought of regret after surgery especially if I ended up with lumps and bumps you often see with inexperienced surgeons trying to sell their patient with the newest and latest smart/cool/skinny you name-it lipo. I was fortunate to have my first and only opinion be the right one for me (the unlimited amount of post-op visits with guarantee of work helps too!).
