Tomorrow is 4 weeks since my surgery, and I’m really discouraged with my healing. I had my 12 year over the muscle implants removed and exchanged with smaller under placement along with a breast lift. About 2 weeks after, my vertical incisions started to separate, Dr used silver nitrate one week ago and I don’t really see any improvement. I see him again in 3 days. I’m so frustrated with where I’m at with my healing.

I’m happy with the reduction; size and shape look great. I just feel like I’m never going to heal. ????

girl...please be patient. i had implant exchange with lift as well 5 months ago and i was spitting stitches for almost 4 months. i too was discouraged with healing. it felt like a life time. mine started at 6 wks. post op. the madness finally stopped. im still using scaraway silicone sheets and incisions are coming along nicely. while they are not perfect remember we signed up for scars. it takes time..i promise...been there.

I wonder did they tell you why this happened to you as far as the infection?

Implant is now exposed! I am officially freaking out. See Dr in the morning, I can not sleep.

I am sorry to hear about the complication you are experiencing; at this point, best to keep the involved area covered with a sterile dressing until you see your plastic surgeon. Hang in there: with appropriate management, you can still end up with a very nice outcome longer-term. Best wishes.

Update 12/23/2017 ~ 2nd Surgery

Doc put me into emergency surgery yesterday to remove exposed implant. He. Was able to clean the pocket, and replace with a smaller implant and close up right breast. I’m back at home with a new implant, a drain, and optimism. I will probably have some asymmerty issues, but really right now I don’t care. Just want to close all the wounds and get back to life.

I´m sorry you´re going through this. Hope it get better for you soon.
I got a downsize with lift 2 months ago (over the muscle placement) and my left side is freaking me out, some stitches opened up and are still healing.

Prayers your way as well. I'm wondering why Dr went with over muscle placement for you. Spitting stitches/stitch abscess sux...mine finally subsided after 4 months. Agressive scar treatment now. I will wait 1 yr and decide on scar revision.

I'm praying for speedy recovery for you. Reflection on my journey...spitting stitches and not perfect scarring are nothing what you have been through. My scars did not split but I think Dr was cautious and put me out of work for 2 wks about 3 months post op bc of healing issues with incisions. Hang in there baby. Please keep us posted.

Thank you for prayers, I’m going to take FMLA for couple weeks and make sure I get over this healing hump. Probably should have initially. Live and learn. I still think that ounce this is all over, will be pleased with results.

I had 1st implants 23 yrs ago. This is my 2nd revision. First revision implant rupture (saline 6 yrs ago). This time around, elective...wanted gummies and downsize. Knew they would probably recommend lift which scared me but I went with it knowing first ba I had scar revision (crescent lift) and second revision doughnut lift which... not so well. But I attributed it to me being a smoker. I had quit by my July 2017 surgery. Think mb genetics and on the cusp of being 55 yrs old so thin skin? Don't no but no where what you have been through.
