I had my first breast augmentation surgery when I...
I had my first breast augmentation surgery when I was 32 years old. I was younger and wanted a much fuller look. I was a 34B (smaller side) and went up to a 34DD (according to VS). I believer I was at 515-545cc. As for the surgery, Dr. D was thorough and listened to my concerns and wishes. He made his suggestions accordingly, etc. Surgery went well for me. I had a very quick recovery for a first-timer and was out and about within 2-3 days. I really didn't have a choice since I had 3 young children to care for. So, yes, my surgery was very quick. In about 6 months, my breast had settled and I was very happy. Though, as I got older--my desire for larger bust definitely diminished. I got to be more active and began working out and doing more "beach" activities with the kiddies, etc. About a year ago, I came to the conclusion that my breast was much bigger than I'd like them to be. I'd be exercising and they'd be bouncing everywhere! So, when the time was right, I made the decision to go smaller. I thought I could get away with just decreasing my breast size and on my way. Well, turned out I needed to do a lift as well and boy am I glad I did. Had I just did a decrease in cc's, I would've sagged quite a bit. As for the second surgery, again...everything went well for me. Within 1-2 days, I was up and about. Even the first couple days, I could've moved around but I was actually still very tired from the anesthesia so I rested. But recovery went well and now about 6 weeks post surgery, I am very pleased with the results considering Dr. D performed a lift as well. A friend once told me that your breast are "sisters" not "twins" and that's exactly what mine looks like. They are EXACTLY even but they are not at all noticeably different. I can see a very slight difference bc they're my breast but my husband can't tell the difference. I absolutely LOVE they look in a shirt and a bikini top--very pleased.
Dr. D is very pleasant, very professional and has a great, helpful staff. He's very flexible and honest as well. I had the impression that he'll do whatever it is the patient is requesting -- which is good and bad. I'm the type of person that likes to get the doctors opinions but it seemed like he kept his opinions at bay and stuck to the facts of the "what if's." I take bc in the world we live in, folks are quick to point a finger. So I think for Dr. D, his approach is to do what the patient is asking to avoid all the bs.
Overall, I am very pleased with Dr. D. Both my sister-in-laws have been to him and I've been with him twice. Anyone who's interested in breast surgery, I always refer them to Dr. D. He's good.
