4 Years Later: Still Glad I Did This! :-)
WORTH IT
Just wanted to pop on here to update my post because I know a lot of people don't really update after a while and especially with a tummy tuck you always wonder how long the results last. Well, I definitely started gaining a little weight back due to leading such a sedentary lifestyle. This past Spring I joined a gym and hired a trainer because it just doesn't make sense (to me anyway) to spend all that money and go through all that pain just to fall back out of shape again. I weight train 4x a week. I'm very happy with how I look now as compared to before surgery. I was very unhappy then. I'm also currently working with a tattoo artist to cover up the scarring issue around my nipples (where the areola was pulled down along the incision line). I was told in order to correct that the PS would have to basically cut into you again to revise the area. The more they cut into you, the more you risk having something else that needs to be repaired. So I figure I'll just camouflage the issue and move on with my life. When that's done I'll post before and after pics of her work in case someone else with the same issue comes across this post. Anyway, just goes to show that you can maintain these results, even in your 40s! It's hard work, but totally worth it IMO. :-)

One more picture...
I hate that you can’t revise posts on this site. :-/ I wanted to add this picture to my last update to show how that areola skin puckers... it’s unattractive. I probably will need surgical revision because I don’t know if tattooing will fully hide how the skin does that. :-/ I don’t know if surgical revision will move the nipples/areola out of place though. Part of me doesn’t want to risk that. IDK... whatever I do decide, and do, I’ll come back to let you know how it went. :-)

Is there any loss of sensation/feeling in this area?
A little yes. I had much more sensation in that area before surgery, and for the first ~2 years after the surgery my nipples would hurt a lot when touched. I was worried that was going to be permanent but thankfully they've gotten a lot better with time.
That puckering is NOTHING compared to the "animation deformity" I suffer with, thanks to Brigham and Womens.
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. So disappointing when you heal up only to find you need more surgery. :-/ Is it something that can be somewhat easily fixed?
You look great! How long did it take to achieve a flat tummy after surgery? For the swelling to go down in your case? Is there anything you did to help it?

Almost 2 Years Post Surgery
I figured I’d come back and post an update because people don’t usually post updates after the first few months, and I’ve read that people who get tummy tucks often gain all the weight back… Especially if you’re middle-aged and premenopausal. So I figured people might like to hear how it’s going in the long term.
I definitely do have to fight to maintain my weight. I didn’t lose 1 pound after the surgery, even with all the fat and skin he removed. That blew my mind! But I’m MUCH happier in my body today than I was before the surgery, even with the few issues that need revision (see pictures). So I try to eat right and get as much exercise as I can to try to keep from gaining any weight and ruining my results. The older I get the harder it will be, and once menopause kicks in I understand it will be even more difficult, but I’m gonna do the best I can to maintain my results.
I’ll check back in periodically to let you guys know how things hold up in the long term, and whether I got surgical revision for those issues or tattoos. :-)
