How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.

I am still working and my colleagues for the most...

I am still working and my colleagues for the most part are younger than I. Because of the poor effect of the suture lift to my neck about 8 years ago I was left with skin/flesh that was hanging like two turkey necks. I looked even older than I am. It made me self-conscious. I debated having a scar revision soon after the thread-lift but then my husband had an MI and went into cardiac arrest. After his recovery I thought again about scar revision. However seven-months after the MI, my husband was diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer and when they performed surgery they found it was stage 4 and had metastasized to his liver. Over the past 8-years our focus was on his illness and care and survival. Finally, finally, I met with Dr. Mark once again and scheduled the surgery for myself for September 23, 2014 at 7:30 AM. By that time a simple scar revision would not have been enough so with Dr Mark's input I opted for the lower face-lift. We now live out of state and so we stayed in a hotel in Dr Mark's area. The evening of the 23rd at 10:30 PM my husband died in the hotel. It was sudden and it was truly unexpected. Now that 6+ weeks have gone by I realize that had my husband died before I had the surgery I would not have gone through with it. I believe things went the way they were supposed to go. I feel good regarding myself and the reaction of those who know me and new people I meet. I am so glad I had the surgery done and I may have Dr Mark do a tiny bit more. He is amazing. I do not look like G-forces are pulling my face back. In everyone's words, I look more well rested, more like the stress is less in my life, younger, better, and many more comments. No one can really put their fingers on it. Most everyone attributes my change in appearance to my new hair-style. Now, losing my husband will take me the rest of my life to deal with. I will never look for a male companion or a male partner. My husband was my one-and-only. If you are contemplating plastic surgery you should really consult with Dr Mark. Take it from a nurse who had some work done that was not so great, a nurse who further researched plastic surgeons, and a nurse who had Dr Mark repair what the previous plastic surgeon had done to my face and neck. I would trust Dr Mark with my sisters or my mother and I used to work in the OR, believe me I have seen bad and I have seen good, and then i found great!
Thank you Dr Mark and all of your supportive staff! Okay so see the picture below - 6 weeks post-op and remember, I am pushing 70 years old! But look at that neck and lower face - I think you will agree Dr Mark worked miracles. If you want to talk, let one of the staff know, leave your contact number with them, and they will contact me and let me know. I will be happy to tell you about my experience and to answer any questions you might have. Kathy
