Update - 2 weeks post revision

Just had my revision with a different surgeon and I can breathe so much better already! The dent in the bridge is fixed and my tip looks normal again. I'm so happy!!!! Recovery has been pretty easy. The worst part is that the surgeon needed ear cartilage, so my ear is very sore. But it's totally worth it to be able to breathe again. The new surgeon found that only a tiny 4mm width of my septum was left in the "keystone area" after my first surgery which made my nose collapse. They are supposed to leave 10-15mm in order for the septum to maintain support, so my nose had been over resected where the nasal bones and cartilage meet. It had looked like my tip was detaching from my nose! But I'm so glad it has been fixed. So now I wait and hope for good healing!

Really Hate my Results of Rhinoplasty

I always wanted a rhinoplasty since I was 12 years old because I was self conscious of my over-projected, droopy nose with a hump and bulbous tip. I finally worked up the courage to have the surgery at the age of 32. Immediately after surgery, I could only breathe out of one side of my nose and the tip looked very asymmetric and pointy. During the first 6 weeks, my tip dropped dramatically, and became droopy. An indentation formed on the bridge of my nose. Fast forward to a year later, the skin finally shrank and revealed deformities in my tip cartilages. I am now 18 months post op, and I have two sharp graft edges in the tip of my nose, and a gap in between them. I can barely breathe out of one side. I am so depressed about my deformed nose, I cannot take pictures with my family or look at myself in the mirror. I am scheduled for a revision with a different surgeon this April, 2021. I really really hope it can be fixed!

I had a primary rhinoplasty with Dr. Ladner in May 2019, because I wanted the hump removed and my tip raised and brought in. It was considered an average difficulty case and only cosmetic. I am completely devastated by the results! Dr. Ladner removed too much cartilage from my septum and only left 4 mm of width where there is supposed to be 10-15 mm to maintain strength. My septum collapsed and left a dent on my bridge. The tip became more droopy than before surgery and very deformed. After a year post-op, I could no longer breathe out of my nose. He offered to “make minor adjustments” to revise my surgery, but I declined. I ended up choosing a top US surgeon for my revision to fix Dr. Ladner’s mistakes. The new surgeon had to do a very challenging reconstruction of my nose. I still have deformities that could not be corrected because of Dr. Ladner's aggressive removal of cartilage. I deeply regret choosing Dr. Ladner for my rhinoplasty. It has caused me a great deal of financial and emotional stress!
