I'm a 30 year old mum to 2 beautiful children and had been overweight since I can remember!
Finally in 2013 I decided to change my life after suffering with depression and anxiety for years about my weight. I was literally at rock bottom. I hated leaving my house as I was so paranoid people would be staring at me thinking I was gross. I would be a hot, sweaty out of breath, red mess if I had to walk anywhere so I avoided it wherever possible and when I did leave my house I would leave way before I needed to as I don't drive so I could take my time and avoid looking like I'd ran a marathon OR I would rely on people to drive me.ANYWAY I'm sure you get the picture as many of you would have been in my shoes and totally know where I'm coming from.So I've finally lost just over 9 stone and have kept it off for 18 months now with diet and exercise. I go to the gym 5-6 times a week for 2 hours at a time. I walk everywhere as I don't drive and I work in a school kitchen so always on my feet, busy. I will upload some photos also! I really feel I've been very lucky with my my weight loss in regards to loose skin as it's only bad on my belly and tops of my legs (I'm hoping I won't need to have a thigh lift after) I'm also only 4ft11 so at my biggest I really did look huge! So anyways last week I finally had my consultation at THE SPIRE HARPENDEN with MR NILESH SUJITRA. I did a lot of research into where I wanted my procedure and who I wanted it with and I have to say so far I am over the moon with my choice. Mr Sujitra was brilliant and made me feel very at ease with his calm and professional manner. One thing I was worried about going to a consultation was that I'd get 'mugged off' with being told I needed more done than I did and to spend extra money when not needed etc and Mr Sujitra was the opposite in fact! I expected to need lipo and other little extras and he said NO and that these things were unnecessary. I only need a full tummy tuck with muscle tightening but no extra lipo needed. Well this was music to my ears and it showed that finally all my hard work and dedication has paid off! I've gone ahead and booked my surgery for 19th July 2017!!! Yay!!!! I am literally so excited and hoping the time will fly by as I'm so ready for it and I feel like a total loon as I'm just so obsessed with watching and reading anything tummy tuck! It's literally taking over my life lol! I'm so glad I found this site as I've been able to read real stories on real recoveries and it's really helped me so much so far. Also if anyone had any tips or advice for me please please do let me know, I would really appreciate any help and I'm also really wanting to put together a kind of checklist of thingsi will need for recovery :)

Ah thank you :) it's good to know there are others in the same boat! How are you feeling? I wish mine was tomorrow I'm so ready for it xx

Oh I totally understand! I want mine tomorrow but I also want to shift a few extra pounds and get into a bit better physical shape as I know I'll feel better and potentially the recovery will be a bit better the more physically fit you are. 90/10 really. 90% ready for it tomorrow lol. How are you feeling? Have you started getting a list of questions to ask and a list of things to help your recovery? Xx

Yes that's definitely sensible! I'm feeling very ok about it right now but I have got a whole to go yet so I'm sure I'm going to be up and down with different emotions but the one thing I know for sure is that I have to have it done! I don't have too many questions and a lot of them are already answered but I do have a small list written out and ready. As for things for recovery I haven't yet started to get anything but plan to in the next couple of weeks, I'm still unsure of what to get as I don't want to buy things that I won't need and waste money. I need to find out wether to bother getting a wedge pillow or just loads of pillows. I don't have a recliner that most people on here seem to have so I'll be mostly on my corner sofa as I don't have a RC in my room but luckily I do have a downstairs loo so that's a bit of a bonus :) xx

That's a definite bonus! I don't have a recliner and only an upstairs loo :( think I'll be upstairs for the first few weeks. I'm the same as you, not sure about what to buy either. I did buy 2 new pillows today from TK Manx which are Dunlopillo, so a good brand and they'll be firm enough to give me some support xx
