I had a severe bottoming down of left breast...

I had a severe bottoming down of left breast implant and the right implant fell under my armpit whenever I laid down. I also felt awful sharp pain in my right breast. I was very disappointed with the surgeon, to say the least. He promoted himself as being a member of BAAPS and BAPRAS, and that he had extensive experience in breast surgery. Within a few weeks after the operation, I could see something wasn’t right, and I kept raising concerns at my follow up appointments but he kept insisting that it was early days and it would improve. Eventually, at my 10 months’ post op he admitted to over dissecting the pockets and severing my muscle, he agreed to do corrective surgery. However, by that time, I had completely lost confidence in him and would not want him to perform any further surgery on me.
I started researching and found the forums and people’s personal experiences very helpful in the process of choosing a Surgeon for the correction, I read numerous reviews and corresponded with few patients before my initial contact with Mr Rezai. I needed to make sure I chose wisely, as I could not cope with yet another unsuccessful surgery.

Following the examination at my initial consultation with Mr Rezai, he quickly understood what was wrong and offered me two options:
1) Single stage surgery-To correct the pocket and re-augment at the same time
2) 2-stage surgery - To remove the implants, correct and repair the pocket and my muscle, wait 9-10 months then augment my breasts

He explained that with the 1st option the risk of same issue reoccurring is very high as the pressure from the implant could open the pocket again before it has time to heal. Although it made sense to remove the implants, correct both pockets and right muscle, give them time to heal, then add volume, I was worried about not being able to cope with two “empty sacks” for several months.

I am now 10 weeks post the 2nd and final stage of the treatment (the 1st stage was over a year ago), I am healing well, been exercising since 2 weeks ago, and I am loving my new and improved breasts. Thinking back, I am so happy I chose the 2nd option, and I am so grateful to Mr Rezai for being completely honest with me from the start and not sugar coating the situation. I felt that I was fully prepared for the 2 stage surgery that was going to take place, I went in eyes open knowing what to expect before reaching the end result.
