Worst Experience Ever
I would keep away from Dr.Kadesky as he is very unprofessional and manipulative.
I had an accident and had a tip of my thumb bitten off. I met Dr.Kadesky at the emergency room of Palomar Hospital, where he performed the surgery on my thumb and prescribed antibiotic. The antibiotic apparently wasn't enough, so my thumb was not healing well. I asked him to change antibiotic, he referred me to infection desease specialist, but his office was slow with sending documentation so I couldn't get an appointment. I went to my primary doctor who prescribed a different antibiotic, but the next day she advised me to go to emergency room. I was admitted to the hospital where I met Dr.Kadesky again. I thought I had a pus pocket and asked him to drain; he said only after MRI. All next day was a wait for MRI, then right after MRI that Dr.Kadesky talked to me and after learning that I had a good insurance informed me that I needed another surgery to have my thumb completely amputated, as he said I had bone inflammation. I asked how he knew that and whether he saw MRI images; he said he didn't need to look at MRI as he saw it from X-ray. I asked him to review MRI together and show me where it shows bone inflammation; he pointed at some place at the image which belonged to a different finger. Then he said he didn't know how to read MRI but he knew I needed amputation from his experience. He started threatening me that if I doubt his opinion and refuse the surgery he will throw me out, and will write in my medical records that I am a difficult patient, and no doctor will want to help me. He said I needed urgent surgery or all my arm may need to be amputated. I initially agreed, was crying the whole night but in the morning decided to take a risk and cancelled this surgery. My thumb improved a little from antibiotics. After I was released from hospital, another surgeon told me my thumb was OK and another amputation was not needed. The stitches were removed by Dr.Kadesky's office so badly that the seam went apart, I contacted him about it but he responded he could do nothing but amputate my thumb. After a few weeks my thumb healed. I am very happy that I didn't believe Dr.Kadesky and didn't let him amputate my thumb completely.
