I have lost 65 pounds so far and my goal is to get to 100. Is it necessary for me to lose more before getting a TT? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Congratulations on the weight loss and keeping it off- that's great!!

It is my suggestion that if you have a desired weight in mind that you want to be, I suggest you be within at least 10-15 lbs of that before you proceed with surgery. This will give you optimal results and a more desirable look.

Will insurance pay for my abdominoplasty because of my diastasis recti?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

This is a common question asked when patients come in to my office. Unfortunately any procedure that is considered "cosmetic" insurance companies will not pay for. From my experience, the only surgery even close to a tummy tuck would be called a panniculectomy which is the removal of the loose saggy skin due to dramatic weight loss and even then, the insurance companies require a lot of documentation and photos that the patient is suffering from rashes, infections of the skin under the abdominal pannus, back pain, etc... due to the excess skin weight. I have never seen insurance companies cover the repair of the diastasis recti. I hope this helps.

Would a mommy makeover be the best option for me? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Congratulations on your weight loss and keeping it off.

Getting down to your goal weight of 154-164 prior to moving forward with a surgical procedure is a wonderful idea and will give you the most optimal outcome. Although an in office consultation would be ideal to make a good decision on what procedures would be best for you , based on your photos it does look like you could benefit from abdominal liposuction and tummy tuck. Depending on the tightness of your abdominal muscles, you may or may not need those to be tightened and that can be determined in an actual exam.

As for breast surgery- That would all depend on the look you are trying to achieve. If you want them larger, perkier, more asymmetric. That all can be discussed with a surgeon at a consult as well.

I wish you the best.

I have about 25lbs to lose to reach 125 pounds. Should I lose this before having the surgery?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

First of all- Congratulations on the weight loss and keeping it off.

This is a very good question and is one that comes up often during a consultation. I do suggest that if you have a desired goal weight and you are still progressively moving towards it that you would for sure want to wait until you are within 10 lbs or so. This will give you a more desirable outcome.

Best of luck to you.

Breast reduction with needed lift and tummy tuck. Am I too old for these procedures?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Age I say wouldn't be the deciding factor on whether you should or shouldn't have the surgery you want. If you are a healthy individual with no medical problems and your surgeon feels that you are a candidate for each of these procedures, then there is no reason that you shouldn't go through with them. Its never to late to feel good about yourself and boost your self confidence. Good for you!

How long is the usual time to take off work after a mommy makeover?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

This questions all depends on the individual and the type of work they perform. Most all of my patients plan at least 1 week out of work after a mommy makeover. Enough time to rest and be able to take a moderate amount of pain medication and not have to worry about going anywhere.  If someone has a desk job or light duty job that doesn't involve any  lifting, pushing, pulling, standing for a lengthy period of time they will most likely be back to work in a week or so but it is advised that any strenuous work or activity be avoided for about 6 weeks.

What can be done to treat pink skin after a chemical peel? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Pink is the color of skin healing after a chemical burn. This will lighten over time. For faster results, good old fashioned aloe vera gel heals this kind of burn as effectively as sunburns.

Did the doctor miss the mark by not using steri strips? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Dont blame the steristrips!!! Your are probably allergic to the skin glue causing the terrible rash requiring steroids and you are not dissolving the absorbable suture material. These procedures are my least favorites....they tend to flatten the front of the breast instead of giving it an esthetic cone shape. The larger implant will tend to stretch out the areola even wider. The donut breast lift is also very hard to convert to an more esthetically pleasing "lollipop" lift. At least make sure your surgeon removes all those sutures that did not dissolve.

How long after a septorhinoplasty with double tubular reduction can I resume taking Excedrin migraine OTC pills?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

With a history of a septal hematoma, which is very rare, I would recommend against taking an aspirin-containing medicine, period. You may well have a preexisting clotting disorder like Von Willebrand"s Disease. Oxycodone 10 mg to 20 mg should eliminate the pain without causing bleeding. I prefer Maxalt (rizatriptan) for migraines.

What could be the cause of bleeding out of the nipple ducts post bilateral reduction? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

After 34 years of reduction mammoplasties, I have not encountered bleeding from the nipple ducts post op. I can only surmise that a collection of blood inside the breast (hematoma) connected to the ducts to the nipple. This should be temporary and cause no long term problems.

Amazing Results! Dr. Kadesky is the best!

Dr. Kadesky is the best! It's as simple as that. After two babies and years of being overweight, I thought I would be unsatisfied with my body forever. Dr. Kadesky showed me what it could be again with hard work, determination and an excellent plastic surgeon! He was honest about what he could do for me and he delivered! He and his staff are wonderful! I felt like everyone really cared about me, my experience and the outcome. I highly recommend speaking to him if you are unhappy with your appearance.

Great experience!

Superb! Got the procedure I wanted, no fuss. It was reasonably priced, and I got the results I hoped for, not just the results I expected. Went way above that. I now have more confidence and like my body a lot better than before. Should have had it done years ago. Little pain, quick recovery, great healing. Dr. Kadesky and staff do really good work, and are the kindest people imaginable. `If I ever decided I wanted something else done, I'd be there in a flash.

Amazing Doctor

I had liposuction on my outer thighs. He took good care of me. I trust him completely. I would do another surgery in a heart beat. I know he will always be there for me when I need him. He checked on me the day after on his day off.

Stay Away- He Treated Me Like Dirt, Botched My Surgery

He treated me like dirt, botched my surgery. And told me it’s my fault. Really hurt my dignity this dr. I have chronic pain now. I got a second opinion in my area says he can’t leave my belly button because kadesky pulled it all the way to my crotch. I will have no belly button, no belly button.

Hand Reconstructive Surgery

Worst Experience Ever

I would keep away from Dr.Kadesky as he is very unprofessional and manipulative. I had an accident and had a tip of my thumb bitten off. I met Dr.Kadesky at the emergency room of Palomar Hospital, where he performed the surgery on my thumb and prescribed antibiotic. The antibiotic apparently wasn't enough, so my thumb was not healing well. I asked him to change antibiotic, he referred me to infection desease specialist, but his office was slow with sending documentation so I couldn't get an appointment. I went to my primary doctor who prescribed a different antibiotic, but the next day she advised me to go to emergency room. I was admitted to the hospital where I met Dr.Kadesky again. I thought I had a pus pocket and asked him to drain; he said only after MRI. All next day was a wait for MRI, then right after MRI that Dr.Kadesky talked to me and after learning that I had a good insurance informed me that I needed another surgery to have my thumb completely amputated, as he said I had bone inflammation. I asked how he knew that and whether he saw MRI images; he said he didn't need to look at MRI as he saw it from X-ray. I asked him to review MRI together and show me where it shows bone inflammation; he pointed at some place at the image which belonged to a different finger. Then he said he didn't know how to read MRI but he knew I needed amputation from his experience. He started threatening me that if I doubt his opinion and refuse the surgery he will throw me out, and will write in my medical records that I am a difficult patient, and no doctor will want to help me. He said I needed urgent surgery or all my arm may need to be amputated. I initially agreed, was crying the whole night but in the morning decided to take a risk and cancelled this surgery. My thumb improved a little from antibiotics. After I was released from hospital, another surgeon told me my thumb was OK and another amputation was not needed. The stitches were removed by Dr.Kadesky's office so badly that the seam went apart, I contacted him about it but he responded he could do nothing but amputate my thumb. After a few weeks my thumb healed. I am very happy that I didn't believe Dr.Kadesky and didn't let him amputate my thumb completely.
