Extremely Unprofessional

If I could give her a zero i would. I had a very disappointing experience at this hand surgeon’s office and feel it’s important to share. The appointment started off fine, and the surgeon initially seemed pleasant. However, she told me my hand was “normal.” While I was still in the appointment, My mother received a call from a radiologist stating that there was, in fact, something present in my hand. After Dr Barbara Jemec just stated my hand is normal When I mentioned this updated information, I was immediately dismissed and told that it “meant nothing.” From that point on, the tone became unprofessional. When I explained that the information had come from my mom, the surgeon referred to her as “your mommy,” which I found extremely rude and belittling. That kind of language is completely inappropriate in a medical setting, regardless of whether she agreed with the information or not. I came in looking for help and clarity for ongoing hand issues. Instead, I felt talked down to and brushed off. The interaction became uncomfortable enough that I chose to leave the appointment altogether and walk out. I would not recommend this surgeon to anyone who expects to be treated with basic respect. Medical opinions can differ, but dismissive behaviour and condescending language toward patients is not acceptable.
