Ok, trying this again. I started this journey some time ago and was originally going to go w/ a doctor in New York but plans change. I am now going to Dr. Epstein in Miami for my hair transplant procedure. I've always been very insecure w/ the size of my forehead and have always wanted to change it. I have a virtual consultation w/ Dr. Epstein on 09/18. Will keep you updated!

Ok I am scheduled for my hair transplant procedure for Nov. 4th 2020. Very excited! I started thinking about going through with the actual forehead lowering procedure however , I was too afraid of having shock hair loss that wouldn’t grow back. Even though the hair transplant procedure is more expensive/ has longer recovery time I am excited to get this journey started. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments!

I didn't know anything about 'shock hair loss' would you be able to what it is? I'm also now trying to decide between hair transplant or forehead reduction

Hi! Shock hair loss may happen in many cases but the forehead reduction can be a cause of it as well. It's when the hair begins to shed at a high volume after the procedure. Now not everyone experiences this and it can be temporary or permanent. I know someone who received the forehead reduction procedure ( not by dr. Epstein) & it resulted in permanent hair loss around the crown of the head. That was just a chance I wasn't willing to take so I went forward with hair transplant instead of the reduction surgery.

I am currently on my lunch break of my procedure. We’ve been going at it since around 7 a.m and it’s now 1 p.m. so far so great! The staff is really really nice and the place is very clean and is implementing Covid regulations. The only part that hurt so far was the initial anesthesia needle injections behind the head and then on the forehead, but this was very manageable. Dr. Epstein begins the surgery and sets up everything that needs to be done in order for his associates to come in and help. (Lovely ladies). He comes back in the room and makes more holes for the transplants and gives more direction to the team. So far my experience has been awesome. Will update once I’m home and resting in bed.
