First Class Treatment
I had my second hair transplant treatment (the first having taken place elsewhere in 2020) at the Smile Clinic on 25/07/24. In some ways I was nervous (I didn’t get the results I was hoping for last time - will it work this time?) and in others confident (I know what to expect - it’s not that sore!).
My experience at Smile, thankfully, has been extremely positive and the staff and surgeon (Dr Ahmedov) cannot be faulted. I was picked up from Istanbul Airport and taken to the hotel, and the next day was taken from the hotel to the airport. Following treatment, again I was transferred to the hotel, back for the follow-up, and then to the airport on my departure day. Throughout, I was updated via What’s App as to pickup times (so if you’re nervous about the travel, don’t be!).
The treatment itself was professionally handled by expert staff (with everything conducted in English). Everyone was friendly, which helped put me at ease. The clinic also offers optional extras (ozone treatment, for example, and aftercare products), but there is no “hard sell”. I ended up taking some, purely on the basis that I didn’t want to regret not having opted for things at a later stage - and the aftercare products (topical finasteride and minoxidil) were still much cheaper than I could get them in the UK. Do a bit of research ahead of time and be assured the staff will answer questions honestly. Aftercare is all-important for this procedure - and it’s probably worth taking advantage of extras after having paid for the treatment itself.
Having been through a hair transplant twice (and whatever you hear, the anaesthetic injections aren’t that bad - no worse than you get at the dentist, albeit repeated a few times!), I know it’s nerve-racking. And it’s true I still have to await the results (which can take a year or more). But I can say that Smile Hair clinic has got the process down to an art, providing a smooth procedure carried out by incredibly helpful, friendly, and encouraging people. At every step I felt assured, relaxed, and - despite there obviously being others going through the treatment - that I was an individual and important to the staff. Smile provided a first class service from start to finish.
