As a person who experienced thinning hair in my late 20’s, I began my initial search for a trusted and professional hair restoration specialist all the way back in the late 90’s. I had the opportunity to meet with all the major hair restoration clinics to explore their solutions only to come away with a lack of confidence in their techniques and experience as they all seemed to take a somewhat standard approach to hair restoration that, in my opinion, wasn’t natural looking at all. The reality is that hair restoration is a procedure that absolutely must be done right the first time as fixing bad work is not something anyone wants to deal with.
After putting my hair restoration plans on hold for many years, I moved to Atlanta and had the great fortune of meeting Dr. Ken Anderson through my professional network. Regarding the planning process and procedure, Nelson and the support staff were as helpful and professional as Dr. Anderson and they ensured that everything went smoothly from pre-procedure planning to day of surgery execution and then providing detailed instructions around how to ensure proper and accelerated healing. I was also pleasantly surprised as to not experience any major pain be it in the upfront surgery process or in the recovery phase as I used my pain medication for maybe 24-36 hours after surgery and then all I experienced was some very minor itching as I healed.
Another key benefit that I really valued was the follow up calls from Dr. Anderson himself. He called me across key time check points to ensure that I was recovering properly and that I knew what to expect over the first 2-6 weeks. Since I followed his directives exactly, I recovered very fast and was thrilled as to how rapidly the new hair grew as I began to see tangible results in the first 6 months.
I wear the sides and back of my hair very short (almost military style) and my barber was also amazed at the speed of which my scar healed and for the most part, it has mostly disappeared after a few months which enabled me to get the shorter clipper cuts that I really like. This is yet another surgical area where Dr. Anderson excels as he assured me that, based on his precise and honed techniques, I would not have to worry about a lasting scar that would be visible and he was 100% right.
In summary, the overall patient journey was beyond exceptional as Dr. Anderson and his team are clear and proactive communicators who execute tightly coordinated teamwork in a manner that puts the patient at total ease and comfort across every stage of the process. The procedures were a sound investment in my quality of life and I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Anderson to anyone who is considering hair restoration as the results are amazingly natural and better than I ever imagined.
