I had a fue hair transplant done by Dr. Ali Emre Karadeniz the 5th of July 2018, which is now 11 months ago and the result is just horrible. I'm now in the process of finding a Dr, that can fix my result.
I will now go through my experience.
- I chose Dr. Ali after a long and throughly research, which only showed postive feedback and he didn't have a single bad review here on RealSelf or other forums. But shortly after my procedure was done, the negative reviews started popping up all over the internet, and my fear of a bad result started already there. But I decided to not make up any conclusions before my result was visible.
- I was promised, that the doctor will perform the whole procedure, but it turned out, that Dr. Ali only did the insertions, and the rest of the procedure was performed by his technicians.
- I was also promised, that he only did one transplant pr. day, but during my procedure, there was also another procedure been performed, since I met the other patient during the lunch break.
- During my first consultation with Dr. Ali, I was not walked through the procedure, and it seemed like he was in a hurry with getting my hairline drawn. During this consultation, Dr. Ali just talked and talked and talked, and never asked me about if I had any questions etc.
- During my procedure the technicians never gave me a heads up about what they were during. Ex. I didn't know I was going the get the anesthesia shot before they started shooting it into me scalp. Therefore I got a huge chock, and didn't have any idea what was going on.
- The technicians talked very loudly in their native language and were laughing and giggling, which was very distracting and uncomfortable, especially since it drove your energy down more than needed, it was also uncomfortable because it doesn't feel nice that people are laughing by your ear without you knowning what they are laughing at. It also concerned me, that they might get distracted from during their job, since they were more occupied with talkning and laughing.
- The food I was served during the lunch break was so horrible, that it gave nausea during the rest of the day. The food you get at the public hospitals where I'm coming from is considered gourmet compared to what I was served at Dr. Ali's clinic. When I go to at private clinic, I expect that the food is over a higher quality, since you are a paying customer.
- During the lunch break, I was eating with the other patient, who was getting his procedure done. Dr. Ali was also sitting at the table with us, mainly talking with the other patient. He never once asked about how I was doing etc. Instead he was trying to make a foul out of me while he was talking to the other patient, when he was trying to make a point about many people don't know the pro/cons regarding FUT vs. FUE, by using me as an example by saying without looking at me and pointing: "Ex. this guy over here probably don't know the difference". First, I do know the pro/cons between FUT and FUE, its not rocket science, even though Dr. Ali tried to make it sound like that. I has never felt so disrespected before, since I was paying someone to the a procedure on me, and it sounded and seemed like he didn't respect me at all. I was considering to complain about it, but I decided not to do it, since I was afraid that it could have a negative impact on my procedure. While Dr. Ali was talking with the other patient, he read out loud a email he had received from a potential customer. So not much doctor patient confidentiality here. But from the email he was making fun of the misspelled words the sender had made. I from what I could hear, it was probably spelling errors due to autocorrect. But he was making fun of the sender, because he had written "craft" instead of "graft", and by this Dr. Ali said: "I only the grafts here, maybe my daughter can help him with getting crafts in her game Minecraft". I was astonished by this, and my first thought was, wonder what he has made fun of me by reading my emails out loudly.
- During the extraction procedure, I felt a sharp pain on the back of my neck, which felt like a needle was punched there. I could feel it because it was outside the anesthesia and extraction area. I found that very weird, and again there was not explanation for it when I asked. When I came home, everything was healing up fine, beside that area where I felt this pain. It ended up as a wound, that would not heal, and I got a huge infection, which resulted in that the wound in the back of my neck swelled up a lot, and I needed to get the strongest penicillin treatment to take car of the infection. The infection went away, but the wound has never completely healed up.
- When the doctor finally came in to do the insertions, which was made very quickly, I was of course concern about that. But I could feel that during the insertions procedure Dr. Ali changed my hair line to the worser and not what was agreed upon, by he erased som on the lines with water and then drew up new lines to the worser. After the procedure, I confirmed my suspicion about this, by comparing before and after pictures.
- When my procedure was done, I was allowed to stand up from the operation bed. As I was standing up, the first thing I noticed was some of my grafts, around 5-10 was left on the bench and my body. As one of the technicians noticed it, she quickly swept it away in the hope I didn't noticed it. At that point I knew that the result will be horrible, since if they don't are carefull with your transplants, they don't care about your result.
- After the procedure was done by his technicians, Dr. Ali didn't came in to check the result of their work. I had to ask him my self, when I came out of the "OR", he instead of taking a closer look at my result, he just quickly answered while looking down in his phone, "that we will know that in a year". Thank you very much, that is very comforting to being told after coming out from an operation you paid to bed performed by a doctor, but ended up being performed by technicians instead.
- Next day I came back to the clinic to get the bandages off, and get the aftercare information. Dr. Ali never took a closer look at my result, even though we were sitting across each other at the same table. Since Dr. Ali was sitting across me I was of course expecting to get the aftercare consultation with him, but no no. He's assistant instead came and placed a huge laptop in front of me, so I couldn't see the dr. anymore, and started a video with Dr. Ali explaining the aftercare instructions. I was giving a piece of paper and a pen, and was told to take notes. I didn't know if I had to cry og laugh, since the horrible and very unprofessional experience just kept going on to the very last. First of all, they should have made a brochure with the aftercare instructions, instead of I had to take notes from a youtube video. Very unprofessional. But most of all, I have never experienced a more extreme form of arrogance, that a so called doctor have the audacity to take 3.000 Euros from you, not performing the procedure according to what was agreed upon, try to make a foul of you in front of the other patients, but still not trying to give you a final impressions of a professional doctor by giving a proper post op consultation, but instead playing a youtube video with yourself, while you are sitting on the opposite side of the table doing nothing beside drinking coffee and looking at your phone. But he's arrogance didn't stop hear, because after I was done watching his terrible post op video, the only thing he said to my was asking if I was prone to make a good review about him when I returned to the hotel. To this I simply also answered him it depends on the result, so he will have to wait a year for it. He didn't like my answer, I suddenly wanted to start a discussion about of course his result will be amazing, so therefore there was no need to wait to make the review, even though he the day before has said, that I wouldn't know about it will be a good result after a year has gone.
- During the procedure, I had an inner discussion with my self about if I should start complain about my objections. I decided not to complain, since I was afraid that it would have a negative impact on my procedure.
- I has never once been contacted by the clinic to hear about how the post op has been going, which I find very unprofessional.
- The result of my hair transplant is horrible, because the density is just awful, and it is very noticeable I had a hair transplant done and my hair line doesn't look naturally at all as promised. The direction of some om transplanted hairs is also completely awful, since the hair on the side of my head is pointing straight out instead of laying down naturally close to my head.
- I have not complained to the clinic afterwards, since I don't believe I will get anything constructive out of it after reading other people's experience with it here on RealSelf. I also will not share my pictures after I have read here on RealSelf, that Dr. Ali doesn't care about not having your consent to put your pictures on his website.
To conclude my experience with Dr. Ali, I'm now 3.000 Euros poorer with a hairline that is worse than before I had the procedure made.
In my daily life, I'm a very busy man and therefore is was not easy to find time for getting the procedure done and healing up before going back to my daily life. So now I have to move mountains in the near future to get my hairline fixed by a renowned Dr. to almost the same price I was initially quoted by him before picking Dr. Ali to the half price om him.
My advice is therefore to people considering getting a hair transplant done in Turkey. Dont make the price of the hair transplant the relevant factor in the decision making of where to get your hair transplant done, since if the price sounds too good to be true, it probably also is.
But the best advice I can give is NEVER decide to get a hair transplant done by Dr. Ali, since you are going to regret it rest of your life.

good luck with your next procedure. The funny part is (He) asking you to make a good review you about him after what you have been through; what an arrogant
