Dr Wetzel - Great Experience - Highly Reccomend
I had a hair transplant with Dr Wetzel on April 18th, just about a month ago. The procedure lasted about 10 hours, and was pretty much what I had expected.
The entire team was so kind and knowledgeable.
From the first consultation, Matt (the patient consultant) was very honest, approachable and had a patient first attitude. He was not sales-y or pushy, which put me at ease and made me want to meet the doctor. Then I met Dr Wetzel who has a very similar demeanor to Matt.
Here is a quick recap of the day of surgery experience.
You arrive (I ordered breakfast and had it delivered as I was staying at a hotel nearby). The first thing you do is select what you want for lunch, they offer Jimmy Johns which I loved, so that also added to the experience. They give you some anxiety meds then some local anesthetic. Local hurts a bit but I knew that going into it. I pretty much fell asleep until lunch, then after lunch they started putting the grafts in (I had FUT) that they had removed from the back. I had a bit of pain around 3pm and they gave me some additional pain meds. We wrapped up around 5pm and I took an uber home.
The next few days there is some light pain, I took a pain killer the first two days, after that I just took advil or tylenol. I did not take any of the sleeping pills provided. Sleeping sitting up for a week was pretty annoying, but the sacrifice of slight pain and weird sleeping for a week is well worth having more hair in 6-12 months.
Overall the patient first approach of everyone from Matt (patient consultant), the entire team the day of the surgery, and Dr Wetzel made me feel comfortable and at ease. I can’t stress how well I was treated, and the focus on my comfort throughout the procedure was very welcome.
I would and have already recommended Dr Wetzel to many friends who have asked about the procedure. I will update with before and after photos in a few months.
