I Am Completely Healed and Waiting for my Results
WORTH IT
I have seen the endless online debates between getting the FUE and the DHI, and as someone who got the FUE, I can stand by it. My initial virtual assessment at HEVA showed that I had a deep Norwood 3 recession, which was making me look older. At only 33, this was not passing the vibe check, and I wanted hair that made me look like the healthy and youthful man that I am. I had already been on Finasteride for 2 years, which had stalled the loss but had not helped my hair grow back. I met with the surgeon and his team, and after they had assessed me again, they were sure that the FUE was the right choice, especially since I needed a large number of grafts for maximum coverage and had no problem with shaving my head. They used 4,200 grafts for the transplant. While this would usually cause a lot of bleeding, they made incisions with Sapphire blades to make sure that I healed fast, and they also limited the sessions to one day so that I would not tire too much and the grafts would have a high rate of survival. By the time we finished that day, I was bone tired and could not wait to get to my hotel. The good thing was that they provided transport, and the hotel had room service, and I took full advantage of these perks that whole week. Healing was relatively easy. I was bummed that I could not train for two weeks or swim for at least a month. So I did spend a lot of time watching movies at home, but after that, I was able to join my friends on their hikes and adventures. It has been two months, and I am completely healed and waiting for my results.
