I Am Beginning to Look More Like a 40-year-old

I knew I needed a hair transplant the minute my son questioned if I was really the person in my wedding photos. He may only be six but even he could see that I had aged more than 20 years ever since our wedding only 10 years ago. I took his somewhat advice to heart and after looking into hair transplant clinics in Turkey, I decided to go with Heva because of the large volume of their before & after photos. Like my grandfather used to say, if you want to eat a cow, you have to choose the fattest one! I am happy I went with his logic. After a very long flight from Texas to Istanbul, I made it to the clinic for my appointment. My surgeon recommended that I get the FUE hair transplant which would address the thinning in my crown and my receding hairline. Due to the extensive nature of my hair loss, I was told that it would take a day to complete. I was okay with this because all I wanted was my hair back. The surgeon and his team treated the whole procedure like an engineering project. With specific graft counts and a very detailed mapping process, I felt like my head was some kind of highway that was undergoing a complete overhaul. Now I get why they call it a surgery because this is not a simple in-and-out procedure. I spent the next week in Istanbul to recover and avoid traveling while scabbing since I had another long flight. Btw, if you are traveling from far, I do not recommend getting on a long flight back – it is the only thing I would change. So, were the results worth every mile? Yes! I am beginning to look more like a 40-year-old than a man in his fifties, and I am also starting to feel like it. Who knew hair had such a huge impact?
