My Beard Donor Was Overharvested – Left with Permanent Damage
gervontagabrielAugust 24, 2025
I had a transplant at Heva Clinic in Istanbul in November 2024. What was supposed to boost my confidence has left me permanently scarred.
Before surgery I was told only 200–500 beard grafts would be taken, with 1,000 as the absolute maximum. Even their own website said this. Instead, without ever properly assessing my beard donor, they took around 1,750 grafts. My beard is now visibly patchy, scarred, and can never look the same again.
The grafts that were placed into my crown barely grew (less than 20%), and they even extracted beard grafts before scalp grafts, which goes against standard practice. There was also a supposed “power cut” mid-surgery where everything stopped for 1.5 hours — I can’t help but believe this affected the graft survival too.
When I complained, they admitted to “beard overharvesting” and offered me a free “repair,” then later a refund — but only if I removed my review. After my case, they even changed their website to claim 2,000 beard grafts is “safe,” clearly to cover themselves after the damage had already been caused to me.
I expected some compromise in my donor area, but nothing like this. The damage is irreversible. Instead of giving me confidence, this has devastated my life.
