I was overly optimistic when I reached out to hair transplant clinics in Mexico and Turkey to deal with my extensive hair loss that was affecting my hairline and crown. I wanted everything fixed at once, and many hair clinics agreed to it. In fact, 3 were willing to harvest 6,000 grafts in a day, which I thought was normal. But Heva refused to do one session after they had assessed my donor hair density, and they explained that doing so would damage my donor area. They also explained that with afro hair, we had to be cautious about the level of trauma caused to my skin, as this could lead to scarring. In the end, we took a conservative route of 3,700 grafts and focused on my frontal third and mid scalp while avoiding the crown. I was a bit disappointed during the first few weeks because I wanted more coverage on my crown, but now that I have new hair in my frontal hairline, I am happy with the results. And the best thing is that my donor area has healed completely in the last 6 months and looks untouched. I will trust them with the second session when we get to it. Thank you!
