22yo - Hairline lowered - 3000 FUE grafts - Reciding hairline - Turkey

Hi guys, so i've been wondering around for a few months now if i should get my hairline lowered or not. A friend of mine did his hair in The Netherlands and he paid almost 7000euros for 1401 grafts (yes 1401). He is almost a year further now and there is not a lot of difference in his hairline.. Too expensive if you ask me.

Anyhow; In the summer of 2016 i have had a rhinoplasty and just wanted to go for a 'new nose - new me look' and decided to shave my hair off. Once i did that, i noticed (which surprisingly i have never noticed before) that my hairline was really reduced. It's not that im going bald, but you know, its one of the first 'steps.' I took a look at pictures of me at high school and it was a totally different hairline than what i have today.

So i read some reviews, did some research and came in contact with MCAN Health. I've send them pictures (same ones as in this post) and they told me they could help me with 3000 for about 2150 euros. I made the deposit today (200E, usually 100E) and i am planning to book my flight tomorrow. I'll try to keep this posted updated as much as i can.

April 2017 . Arrival in Istanbul!

I wanted to do more updates but coudnt find the time to do it. So i decided why not and booked the treatment, got my plane tickets and flew off to Turkey/Istanbul. I just landed in Istanbul and got picked up by the driver we drove to the hotel right away. The driver was very nice :) We drove through some areas of Istanbul which looked really shady. For a brief moment this thought entered my mind of being robbed by the driver and then kicked out or something xD Luckily that didnt happen.

Anyways, now i have the evening for myself :) I chose not to be treated at the day of arrival because I like to be well rested before proceeding with the treatment. The only thing is that you have to book an additional night at the hotel (staying at The Elysium - near Taksim - btw) if you want stay longer, so your overall costs increase.. but Turkey is a pretty cheap country, so why not stay longer :)

So my treatment is planned for tomorrow. Cannot wait :)

Day of Surgery + 2 days Post OP

YAY! So writing this update two days after I had my treatment :)
So on Friday (21st) I had my transplant. The day i woke up really nervous, I didnt know if this was the right way to deal with my 'problem' and I thought about chicke'ning out. But I didnt. I woke up around 6.30am, showered, brushed my teeth, dressed in loose fitting clothes and had breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast that Elysium provides is okay :) Not too fabulous going on there. There were a lot of options to choose off. I have to say that the olives/tomatoes/medi. cheese they provide during the breakfast are really really salty.
Anyways, I was told by my client advisor Halit (through Whatsapp) that I was going to be picked up at 8.30. The driver came at 9. Not a big deal for me. So we arrived at the 'clinic' at 9.30. I was kinda schocked that the clinic didn't look the same as they advertise on their fancy website. So the clinic was a shared practice dental clinic/hair treatment. Apparently the address stated on their website is where the office is located and not the actual clinic.. which kinda made me chicken out (again).. but I was already there so.. yeah..
We went in and Halit came to greet me personally. He picked me up after 15 min of waiting at the waiting area. I was guided upstairs and met the medical team. I made the payment (in cash, which was the only option I could pay for this) and signed some forms with basic medical agreements. After that was done the guy came (don't know the medical name for his job) who viewed my head and told me how my hairline was going to be and make a drawing with a (permanent) marker - I still have the markers on my head because it's water resistant. Firstly i didny really agree with him on my hair line., it was too high and said i would have liked it lowered for 2 cm. I know it doenst sound like a lot, but it actually is. After i agreed and he looked happy as well, I went on to another room and had to undress myself and had to wear a scrub.
After that they gave me some instructions about the treatment. The thing was.. the medical team doenst speak any English and it was hard trying to communicate with them. So then..
So then.. THE [RS bleep] INJECTIONS. GUYS I SWEAR IT FELT LIKE THEY WERE PRESSING MY HEAD INTO THE SUN. SUCH AN AWFULL, HORRIBLE SENSATION. I got 12 different injections. 6 into the donor area and 6 in the recipient area. I didnt really feel anything during the surgery but OMFG I WANTED TO CRY AND SCREAM when they gave me the shots.
So during the surgery I tried to communicatie with the medical team about random stuff.. it actually went okay, what some pretend 'sign language' can do :) first of all the grafts were harvested and placed correctly in order. They said it was about 1800 grafts.. which sounded a lot to me considering the recipient area wasn't that big. They told me that my grafts were really deep in my scalp and that they had some trouble receiving them.. Couldnt feel a thing of the harvesting so that was a big plus. However I could hear like a small drill drilling in my head and penetrating the flesh.. but I had a TV in front of me so tried to focus my mind on the Turkish telenovella XD
When the harvesting was done (in 3 hours), the man who drew on my head came by and make the little canals/holes where the grafts were going to be placed. After that they gave me some food :) It was good :) Was really hungry and getting sleepy. After I ate they started with placing the grafts. I layed on my back and then they started. The position I had to lay in was a bit uncomfy but it was just for a few hours and then I could enjoy my new hair.. :P
So when that all was done I got all wrapped up. Weird thing was that they decided not to give me that band thingy around my head because they said the bleeding from the donor area had almost stopped. I thanked the medical team and left :) The driver came by within 20min and dropped me off at the hotel.
The first night I ordered roomservice because I wasnt feeling going outside.. Sleeping was terrible.. I had to sleep with a special elevated neck pillow.. UGH think i only got 3 hours of sleep.
The first day post op I got picked up again by the same driver and we drove to a different clinic.. American Aesthetic... Again.. really shady, but this clinic looked how a clinic should look. The first dentist practice I went too looked really old.. wouldnt say awfull but.. yeah... it wasnt what i expected to see.. They removed the wrapping and told me how to wash my head. The way the nurse did it was really painfull.. i told her it was hurting but she didnt really listen.. Next to that they put lotion on my head ( i dont know which one anymore because i threw it away and didnt use it), which was bodylotion.. I was kinda shocked that they gave me that and said use that on your head. However the first they i gently washed my head with this lotion, they told me to let it sit for 40min and wash it off. The lotion was supposed to speed of the scabs removal process. Guys OMG after 40min the lotion was all dried up and really hard to get it off. I spent almost an hour in the bathroom trying to get rid of the lotion.. I threw it out because i didnt wanted to do this again for the next days.. I went to the pharmacy and picked up some vitamines which I thought would be a good addition.
So yeah, now it's my second day and still going strong! :) Will update again next week :)
