Anyone who grew up with a distinct feature knows just how cruel childhood can be. To give you an idea of my experiences, people used to call me ‘forehead’ or ‘seven head.’ The latter was because a kid in my class actually once used seven of their fingers to count the distance between my eyebrows and my hairline! At least, I was bright, so people often equated the big forehead with my big cranium. But deep down, I was hurting and tired of the nicknames. So, I got the idea of saving up enough money to get a forehead reduction immediately.
It turned out that the kid from my class was right because, according to my medical documents, my forehead measured 7.5cm from glabella to hairline peak! The medical team at Heva ran some tests, and I was cleared for a hairline advancement of 2.3 cm. I was so happy to hear that I would be losing a full inch from my seven head. I was in general anaesthesia during the process, and when I woke up I was eager to see my results. But since I had a huge bandage on my head, I had to wait till the next day. I remember arriving early because I was nervous about the results. When they took off the bandage, I could see that my face was finally looking proportionate. It was such a big change, and I just remember being overcome with emotion. I wore a wrap for the next six days before the surgeon took off my sutures and cleared me to go back home. The incision had been tucked so well that the scar was already disappearing despite it being early days. By now, I can barely see the incision line anymore because hair actually grew out of it. And needless to say, I feel more confident about my looks.
