Finally! I reached the six-month milestone. My boobs seem to be getting bigger every day. It is weird. They feel loose and floppy but I'm not complaining. The color of my areola is kind of strange, too. Pasty. Will they darken over time? I'm attaching two photos. My scars are looking good! I think I'll work harder at taking off some pounds. Can't hurt! Will post again at 9 months. Thanks to everyone for support and encouragement! It's been a tough road and I don't have family or friends near me. Maybe my emotional ups and downs are all part of the healing process. Time will tell......

Your journey is very interesting to me as we have so much in common. I'm now 2-months post-op and working on being patient with the healing process. I feel I was made too small. I Was DD and wanted a fuller B or smaller C. What I have is a small B. I do notice changes as I soften and begin to drop but I still have a lot of tightness. I'm hoping for some positive changes in the coming weeks and months! Thanks for your postings.

Five Months Post

Well here I am at 5 months. Finally starting to feel better! Compared to my "before" situation, I'm thrilled, but it's no picnic. Already I feel like I am too big and also drooping. I guess it's natural that as they soften they will drop a bit. Can't complain. I think I had a great surgeon. But I don't believe I received completely honest information. My scars are looking better and better! 2 pics attached.

Before you were saying you felt too small now you feel big interesting.

Yes, well initially it was a shock to see such a huge difference after surgery. Also they are very tight and high until the tissue settles.

Your scars are looking great - much better than mine! When I went for my mammogram I asked the technician to look at my scars and compare them to others of the many that she has seen. She said that she had never seen any like mine before. At least he will revise them! I'm just waiting to find when my husband's surgery will be before I book mine, because I don't want us both recuperating at the same time!

Out of curiosity, what sort of information did you receive that you feel wasn't completely honest? Once again, your scars are looking really good!

Hey Wendy girl! I assume your surgeon has done many reductions, so I wonder why that technician had never seen any like yours before. Your husband's surgery not scheduled yet? True, you can't both be recovering at same time. Someone has to make the margaritas!
You asked what wasn't totally honest? 1. That I would be completely recovered and without any restrictions after 4 weeks. 2. She drew picture of incisions. She drew the "anchor" just under the breast, like 2 or 3 inches each, not the 26 I ended up with across my torso way out to my sides , almost beyond where i can even reach . 3.) The nurse said my only additional fee would be pathology report, $500 u.s. which would likely be covered by insurance. It was $1000 and only $300 covered by insurance.
Hope you have a great holiday season!

Thanks. I've been using "bag balm" on my scars for over a month.

15 weeks post

cateyes44
Today makes 15 weeks since my surgery. Well, as you can see in the photos, I have softened and dropped a bit. The left breast looks huge from the angle looking up from beneath. I'm definitely still swollen. My incisions still ache a bit out at the far sides. Scars slowly coming along. Can't complain, when I see how I used to look. Hoping for swelling to fade over next month or two.
Will post again at 5 months.

I am scheduled for reconstructive surgery (years delayed post rt mastectomy) due to Breast cancer! Will be having a DIEP flap to use tummy fat to reconstruct a Breast.... Then when that heals I will have a reduction/lift on the left Breast to match sizes. I will be 58 in Feb and am nervous as a cat! Lol. But tired of no rt sided cleavage and plenty on left!! Breast prosthesis is hot!! Can't wear anything even slightly low cut due to no breast! Shoulder intention due to weight of prosthesis!
Throws off my balance n golf swing! Hehe
Looking forward to Dec 18th, 2015!

You're looking better and better! I hope you're liking your results more now than you were at the beginning. Your scars look much better than mine do now after 8 1/2 months. I'm still not sure when I'll have my scar revision - was hoping for December but my husband now has some health issues and I may have to be his nurse rather than him being mine. :(

Just got some good news from my husband's doctor today! Not as serious as we had feared, although he will still need surgery - what a relief!
November 10, 2015
Sorry your husband needs surgery but good news indeed that it is not so serious. I'm not thrilled with my results but i can't expect a miracle. I keep remembering your words that it takes 5-6 months to get clear results and see yor final size without swelling. My scars aren't bad but i do have an indentation on my side under my arm. Still very numb, too. Keep me posted on your situation, Wendy. I think of you daily!
November 10, 2015
When my daughter is home for Christmas, I'm going to have her show me how to scan photos, and then I'll post my before photo as well as a current one so that you can see my large indentations on the scar lines. Then I'll keep it updated after my scar revision surgery. I didn't find this site until a few weeks after my surgery, so didn't bother taking photos, although I now wish I did. I hope that as your swelling goes down, your indentation will leave you. Thanks for your thoughts, and please keep posting your updates. I think of you all the time also!
