ATTENTION: Please, Please Read my Story when Considering Cosmetic Procedures with Signature Clinic:

I recently underwent gynecomastia surgery at Signature Clinic with Dr. Carlos, and unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. While my main concern was lumps under my nipples from steroid use (right side roughly size of a marble and left side approximately size of a pea), this really bothered me personally as it was right behind the nipple and made the nipple looked pushed out and pronounced (feminine).
I was assured when I went for the consultation that this is an straight forward relatively easy procedure to remove the lumps and that Dr Carlos has done thousands of these procedures over the past few years, it’s the overall aftercare provided by the clinic has been quite disappointing to say the least!

First and foremost, the lump that is supposed to have been removed under my right nipple is still there, though not as big but is still a significant cause of distress and still makes my nipple protrude, I was reassured that the surgery would completely resolve my gynecomastia issue but the lump remains, despite Dr. Carlos' assurance that the procedure would be successful. This not only affects my physical appearance but also leaves me questioning the effectiveness of the surgery I underwent at Signature Clinic.

The lump behind my left side is how you would expect after a successful surgery, flat and no lump, but the right ( which was the bigger lump ) still remains quite prominent, and I’m positive that some of the lump has been left.

I was shown the glands after removal, and I questioned why they were the same size when prior to the surgery the right side was significantly bigger.

I was told its all been removed I know sometimes in any work life this can go wrong or missed and rectification can be required!

I was primarily happy with Dr Carlos as a surgeon but I feel He doesn’t want to take any responsibility, I understand the last thing any surgeon wants to do is rectification work or be questioned about there workmanship but I feel that my concern has not been addressed properly. when I got to see him, I said to him the left side is flat and can feel the scar tissue as to be expected but the right side still has the lump and he said without physically touching me, that this would also be scar tissue, and that can be broken down with a course of steroid injections, he told me I would need approximately 5 injections.
The first injection was administered, when I went to have the 2nd injection I was provided with a contract which basically advised that to receive any further injections I had to sign it and this stated that this would be the rectification work I would receive and if this did not work I would not be entitled to receive any further treatment to rectify the lump, I refused to sign this as this is there get out clause of having to give the aftercare that the patient should receive. I am 100% certain there is still lump left that should have been removed.

I feel that they do not want to give any further time or expense on aftercare now the procedure has been carried out and the payment taken when a reputable company should be looking after there patients as the aftercare should be just as important as the procedure.

After the operation, the aftercare support offered by the clinic has been lacking. it’s been extremely difficult to get a face to face appointment, they want to do everything over the phone or email. On being insistent that I needed face to face as he can not do a through examination over the computer, the only appointments available seem to be at 8am in the morning or past 9pm in the evening, and the surgeon does not seem to available from one month to the next, to then agree an appointment to have it cancelled by the clinic for reconstruction works to the building and then advised if I needed to urgently see him I would have to travel over 3hrs away, for me to then have to chase up on several Occasions to rebook to have to wait a further 6 weeks, all delaying my recovery process. It is disappointing when a medical professional fails to provide adequate support during such a crucial stage of recovery.

Additionally, the lack of responsiveness and attentiveness from Dr. Carlos and the clinic's staff has been disheartening. When I reached out to address my concerns about the remaining lump, my inquiries were met with delays and unhelpful responses. It is disappointing to feel ignored and left to deal with the aftermath of the surgery without proper guidance or support from the medical team. I am here still with a lump that I paid a lot of money to have removed.

Overall, my experience with Signature Clinic's gynecomastia surgery and the aftercare provided by signature clinic has been highly disappointing. The persistent lump under my nipple and the lack of responsiveness and support from the clinic have left me dissatisfied and concerned about the quality of the procedure and the level of care I received. I would advise others to carefully consider their options and thoroughly research of what companies offer and make sure that I adequate surgery will be rectified and the correct level of aftercare is offered before undergoing gynecomastia surgery.
