I am absolutely ecstatic with my results of gynecomastia surgery with nipple graft Mastectomy

First, I would like to thank Dr. Delgado and all of his staff for the exceptional treatment, both pre and post procedure. I decided to have the following procedure, “Male Breast Reduction for Gynecomastia with Free Nipple Graft Mastectomy.” I originally saw Dr. Delgado in 2008 for a consultation to possibly have the Male Breast Reduction procedure to address my Gynecomastia. I was happy with the consultation and the information I was given to review at home on my own. I wanted to start working out before I had the procedure and I did just that. 6 months turned into 12 years, I had lost all of the weight I wanted, however, my initial reason for wanting to have the procedure did not get any better. I imagine I did like most males that are dealing with man boobs and invested in a lot of shirts with double pockets and uncomfortable under garments that compress the chest while avoiding wearing form fitting or tight shirts. I turned 50 in 2020 and decided I did not want live the rest of my life wondering what I could have looked like.
I scheduled a second consultation and met with Dr. Delgado. I was impressed that he remembered me from my original consultation. He informed me since my original visit that Gynecomastia procedures had evolved and outcomes were better than ever. I recalled looking at multiple websites and videos of the procedures and before and after pictures from different plastic surgeons and none of the others gave me that warm fuzzy feeling. Dr. Delgado was very honest with the options that are available vs. my expected results. The deciding statement was, “ I can make you look good with a shirt on, when you take the shirt off you will still have loose skin. I respect honesty and integrity more than sugar coating.
After my consultation we scheduled the procedure. The staff is extremely thorough about next steps for getting prepared for the procedure. The day of the procedure I was not nervous, slightly apprehensive would better describe it. I honestly don’t remember much after the Anesthesia except barely waking up and then somehow ending up at home. I think a big part of having a successful outcome is following the Post-Op instructions, exactly to the letter.
I became real acquainted and familiar with the black vest, I had to wear this until the first follow up visit. Then came the white vest, a bit less restrictive and was able to adjust it as my body healed. The nice thing about the white vest is I was able to fit it under a shirt. I initially took one week off from work after my procedure. However, if I had it to do over again I would have given myself two weeks off since technically it is major surgery.
After a few more visits, when the sutures were removed, I got the first real look at the new me. I got a bit emotional and reflected on how much of my life was impacted by how I perceived my physical appearance and how I believed others perceived me. It took me about a week to get to use to the fact that my life had changed.
I am absolutely ecstatic with my results. I am at the 4-month mark, post surgery and I couldn’t be happier. For the first time, since I was a child, I left the house wearing a T-Shirt, no pockets, no layers, not oversized but just a regular T-Shirt. I had a suit on last week and people commented, “ Wow you look great!” And to be honest I feel great. I always felt great on the inside, now the outside matches.
