I had a revision gynecomastia surgery done with Dr. Delgado after a previous procedure 10 years ago with another doctor overseas left me dissatisfied (the other doc had done lipo-only and left behind the tissue). I did a lot of research for doctors in the Bay Area and other places before narrowing down on Dr. Delgado's clinic based on his reputation online and on social media. Many other doctors were either non-committal (because this was a redo) or seemed too impersonal and overconfident.
After the initial consult, Dr. Delgado assured me of a good outcome and set expectations clearly. He also patiently answered all my questions and put me at ease. I knew immediately that I'd come to the right place.
Surgery day went smoothly. All the nurses and staff were very kind and understanding. Dr. Delgado and the anesthesiologist, Dr. Riddle had called me the day before to check in and see if I had any questions. The surgery experience was painless and went by in a blur. I remember chatting with the doctor in the OR for a few seconds before waking up post-surgery! I had arranged for a caregiver referred by the clinic to help me out for the first 12 hours after surgery. Michelle, my caregiver was very friendly and showed me exactly how to get in and out of bed and use the drains. The 5 days between the surgery and the first post-op were my least favorite part because of the drains and overall discomfort. Once I had the drains taken out I was able to resume working.
It is now 3 months post-op and I'm very happy with the outcome. Throughout this time I have been able to get all my questions and concerns answered by Dr. Delgado and Chelsie, his wonderful patient coordinator, via email. I'm glad I chose Dr. Delgado and highly recommend him if you need to get a similar procedure done. He is a master of his craft and you will not be disappointed.
