During my late 30's to 43 (when I had the procedure), I was noticing, as were others due to the comments such as 'bad nights sleep', 'you look so harassed / tired' I researched thoroughly. I actually took 2 years to full assess the options and had consultations with several surgeons. I used to work as an aesthetic sales rep so had some inside information and knowledge of London surgeons.
After my last consultation, with Mr Sterne I finally felt 100% confident. His generosity with time and consideration to my concerns made me wonder how those previous surgeons get bookings. The fact he was able to articulate what I wished to see altered (or more returned to the face I had 10 or 12 years previously) before I did really impressed me. I knew that a) I was not being pedantic or vain (as we often feel when we share with our friends what we would like to improve about our appearance and b) that here was a surgeon who 'got me'. Mr Sterne has a gentle warm voice which I must admit put me at ease but his attention to detail and time to look at all angels and aspects of the eye area and movement excelled what I had experienced with the previous consultations. Choosing Mr Sterne meant a 3 hr trip. You first have your consultation, then I went again for botox pre surgery (as I have strong expressions and he wanted to be sure that post surgery those strong muscles would not interfere with healing, then the op, then the 3 week post visit to have the staples and screws removed, then I will be back in March for the 6 month final check up. That's a lot of extra travelling but I did not find anyone I was happy with in London. It was definitely worth it. I got to know all the staff really well at Ramsay Health in West Midlands Hospital in Halesowen. Right from the start, Jane who picked up the phone was reassuring and informative.
