5 Days post injection

So it's been five days and my lips are a bit wonky still. They are no longer swollen but one side of my upper lip is larger than the other. I go back for a check up in a week and I'm going to use the remainder of my syringe of juvederm. The nurse said that I could do that when I went back for the check up. I've been trying to use lip liner to over draw the one side that's not as large as the other. Overall, I'm satisfied and will be more so when I get the top lip even. I'm not looking forward to the pain but I guess I'm nuts for putting myself through this just for plump lips. Ah, [RS bleep]. I don't care. ????

I had gone to my plastic surgeons office yesterday...

I had gone to my plastic surgeons office yesterday to cancel an apt for a tummy tuck and get my deposit back. The ladies there talked me into getting my lips done. We decided on Juvaderm for a full and pouty lip. I didn't necessarily have thin lips to begin with but I was hoping to get a little more fullness in my top lip as I have a pouty bottom lip already. When I went back to the room the girl was very kind and sweet. The first thing she told me was that it did hurt and felt similar to the initial prick of a tattoo machine. We discussed what I wanted as in fullness and appearance and she walked me through the procedure as well as asking what medications I have been taking. Well, that is the problem. I have been having sinus problems all week and have been feeling like crap. I was taking a Walgreens brand Mucas Relief medicine and acetaminophen for fever and body aches not to mention it was that time of the month.

A topical analgesic was placed on my lips to numb them and I was told to apply ice five minutes after the analgesic had set. About fifteen to twenty minutes later my lips and tongue were numb but I could still feel enough. Once she started injecting it hurt like a [RS bleep]. It felt more like little bee stings than a tattoo. Bee stings hurt like hell to me and I was rubbing my hands together the whole time. The most sensitive areas were the inner corners and the bottom lip for me. I found that the top lip began to numb more so that wasn't too bad. Once she was finished we looked in the mirror and I told her that the top left side of my upper lip was very painful and seemed more swollen. My lips almost immediately began swelling and I look liked I had some bad Kylie J lip challenge failure. Think big nasty catfish lips. She said that the swelling should go down and to massage and ice them for a few days and all should be well and to expect really nasty poofy swollen lips the second day. The entire drive home I was massaging and icing them. After about an hour and half they began to decrease in swelling. About 10:00 at night they were huge and nasty looking again. I not only had ugly lips but I felt like crap and took more medicine, which was a big mistake! I woke up this morning with big huge hella huge swollen lips. Any bigger and my nose would have been covered! For real ya'll I'm talking BIG NASTY LIPS!!!! I immediately started icing and massage. Now, my teeth aren't straight in the front and with crooked teeth it hurts to rub my lips on them with my finger. I had an extra oval pink makeup sponge and prepped it and began using that to massage them. It works great, it doesn't hurt as bad and the foam is squishy so I'm not applying too much pressure. My upper left side of my top lip is still sore and painful so I'm icing every two hours for 10-15 minutes a time. I can't wait for them to not be swollen and to look more pretty because right now they look creepy and my husband keeps laughing at me and making me feel like an ass.
