I am a 57 year old who has been diagnosed with Breast cancer in October of 2015. I had a unilateral mastectomy on March 2,2016 after chemotherapy treatments. I am a petite 100lbs 32A and I want to go up one cup size. My PS inserted a tissue expander and used alloderm immediately after my breast surgeon was done with the skin saving mastectomy. I went home with 2 drains and was told I had to wait a few weeks before I can begin getting fills. It seems that I am a "stitch spitter" so we had to wait just a little longer for my mastectomy incision to fully heal seeing how I was pulling knots out of it and that kept the scar from completely healing. My first fill was only 30cc's o see how I tolerated it. No problems so the next 2 fills we put in 60cc's. My tissue expander is a bit uncomfortable. Being so small I can feel every edge and every wrinkle in the expander. I am now only getting 30cc fills and have a total of 210cc's in right now. My PS and I have not talked about the type and kind of implant to use. That will happen in the next couple of visits. I am also having my other side augmented so that I have a matching set!! I will need a lift and an implant inserted. Has anyone else had this done? I have been taking pictures along the way and as soon as I can figure out how to post them I will. I will also ask permission from my PS to use his name..... That's it for now.........

Well I believe I have 360cc's in my tissue expander. It is still uncomfortable because I can still feel and see the edges and wrinkles. I have been in the 8 week holding pattern waiting for my surgery. That is scheduled for Aug 25th. We have decided on naturel (sp) style 45 because of my frame and size.

3 weeks out
I am now three weeks post op phase 2 of reconstruction. I still need fine tuning as my PS calls it. I need probably 3 fat transplants to fill in around the implant to give it a softer and more natural look. I am still debating on nipple reconstruction. The mastectomy side still has a "flat top" and I am not sure if anything can be done about that. I am a little sore around the incision site (bottom side of nipple) but was told that just takes time and it's a very sensitive area. I ended up going a cup size bigger than I originally planned, what the heck right!!!! 32C Now I will actually be able to buy a bra and not from the childrens department!!!!
