I hated my ankle tattoo but did not want to get it...

WORTH IT$1,200
I hated my ankle tattoo but did not want to get it made bigger to cover it up, so I went with removal. I was told that it would take up to 6 sessions with 12 weeks between sessions. I decided to have my hip tattoo done at the same time. It is costing $200 per session (my tattoos are small). I am not going to lie, it really HURTS. It feels like being splattered with hot bacon grease over and over. My tattoos are over 20 years old and I am excited to see them disappear! Beware the blister I got on my ankle after my first treatment is very hard to look at. I could not believe my body could produce something so disgusting.

Session 2

Session two was just as painful but I did not blister nearly as much on the ankle but my hip seemed more bruised. The treated area is sore to touch after treatment, but only real pain is during the treatments. I can see a huge difference already and I am very happy.

Before 5th treatment

So far I have had 5 treatments. They are all pretty painful during the treatment but worth it. I am very happy with my progress. My hip most likely will be done after the 5th treatment but ankle will need more. The ankle takes longer due to less blood flow. The hip hurts way more during treatment! Ouch, but it literally only takes a few seconds per site.

I’m considering picosure removal for an ankle tattoo I got last March. Curious on how long you waited between treatments?

12 weeks between. My Dr will not do anything sooner. It akes time for your body to absorb the ink particles.

Had to keep It covered for the first 5 to 10 days with a Band-Aid because it would be blistering and scabby. But I wore socks and normal shoes and boots. It did not hurt at all only hurt during the treatment and a few hours after.

Thanks for the info just trying to get some sort of sense of what I’d be in for. What about through the summer months? Did you have to keep it covered or did you just use sunscreen?
