I first went to Dr. Jacono a few years ago because I wanted to inquire about getting the buccal fat pads removed from my face. I am a tall skinny girl, however, I have round cheeks that make me look heavier than I really am, especially in photos. He informed me that if I only removed the buccal fat pads then my face would look sunken in and I would actually look older than I really am. He said that in order to achieve the results I truly wanted, I would have to do a face lift as well. At the age of 27 I was taken back by the stigma of "face lift," however, after sitting with him in the consultation and hearing more about why I needed a face lift as well, it opened my mind up to it but I wasn't fully ready to go through with the procedure and touching my face in an irreversible way. It wasn't until I had to get my license renewed this past year at the age of 29 and comparing the photo from my old one to the new one when I decided that I definitely am sick of having such full cheeks. I also came across a photo of me with my mother, grandmother and great grandmother where my genes couldn't scream at me any louder that I am destined to have a full, chubby-esque face. I went back to Dr. Jacono and within a week or so after meeting with him I scheduled my procedure of a MADE face lift with buccal fat removal. On the day of my procedure you can only imagine how nervous I was... "This is it, no turning back," but his staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming, easing a lot of the anxiety I had. The nurse who helped me prep for surgery did and said everything I needed and I was ready to go under with total confidence in my decision and in retrospect, I'm so happy I went through with it... One of the BEST things about Dr. Jacono's work is how little you scar with his innovative way of cutting you open. Instead of going in front of the ear, like most face lifts, he goes in the ear and around. This makes the scaring nearly impossible to detect. Even my hair dresser who works at John Barret in Bergdorf Goodman on 5th Ave., and definitely sees a ton of face lift scars, said he couldn't see any scarring and how impressed he was with my results. My procedure was in the middle of February and I saw my hair dresser in the beginning of May. And I'm still not done healing. Little by little the swelling keeps going down (takes about 6 months total so I'm about half way there), which works in my favor of people thinking I'm losing weight and it's not an immediate, drastic change, but still achieving the results I want. On my last visit with Dr. Jacono he had someone on his staff take photos. The member of his team that came in said he thought I had rhinoplasty done and couldn't remember my procedure. I told him I had the MADE face lift with buccal fat removal and he was like, "wow, you look great!" Once he finished taking photos I asked him to show me the before and after and I was blown away by the results. Even before seeing these photos, I already could see a huge difference in my face and in photos. And to top it all off, this procedure is preventative to aging, so I will look 30 for the next 10 years! Touching your face isn't easy and very nerve wrecking. People get horrible work done and there's no coming back from it. If you want to do anything to your face, I strongly recommend going to Dr. Jacono to achieve the best results possible. Not only does he do magnificent work, but he and his staff are extremely friendly, warm and welcoming. Plastic surgery is an art that's done by a scientist. You want to go to someone who has taste and that's exactly what you will get with Dr. Jacono. I cannot recommend him enough!
