30 Yr Old Mommy, 5'3 127 lbs - Grapevine, TX

I am married, 30 years old, a proud mother of two boys and a full-time graduate student. My husband is sweet and supportive. He doesn't think I need anything done, but if I want it, he wants to get it for me.
I have hated my stomach forever. Most people hate their stomach after pregnancy, but I only gained 19 pounds with each of my boys and I don't even have any stretch marks. To be honest, it's always looked this way. It may be a little softer, and squishier after my two pregnancies, but I have wanted a tummy tuck since I was probably 20 years old.
No matter how much I work out, or how I eat I have a soft floppy middle where my last bastion of fat is stored.
I made an appointment with Dr. Kasden after reading many glowing reviews about his manner and his work. I was impressed with him and with his track record, so I booked an appointment and am scheduled to go in for surgery on the 11th, the day after my last final exam! I will arrive at the hospital at 5:30 in the morning and I'm scheduled to go into surgery at 7:30 AM.
I have poured over thousands of before and after pictures, agonized about whether I am being selfish and stupid to risk an expensive surgery for vanity's sake when I have a family to take care of and contemplated in terror the messy business recovering. I look at it this way, I have hated my stomach every single day of my life for at least 10 years, so even if it took me six months to fully recover, what is that in the scheme of the rest of my life? I just want to wear cute shirts that don't have to poop out and hide my rolls, and jeans without a muffin top.
So ... Here we go! I plan to keep my status updated any time I think about it. Wish me luck!
So, I had surgery yesterday and everything went...
I slept on a recliner, and I did have to wear a catheter for the first night but I think that was for the best. It would have been much more difficult to get to and from the bathroom last night.
Today I went to Dr Kasden's office to get the catheter out. They removed most my bandages and I got to see my tummy! It was worth it! :-)
I'm stiff and sore and my vision is blurry, but its not as bad as I'd expected it to be. I have three gross drains but even those aren't too bad.
I'll post a picture if I can figure it out.

So, it's three days postop now. I had my surgery...
I can waddle to and from the bathroom, and tinkle by myself. I can empty my drains by myself. And if I'm very slow and careful I can get in and out of the recliner and up-and-down off the toilet by myself. All in all, weather is quite a bit of stiffness and I do feel as though I have been punched about 100 times in the stomach, the pain medication makes it very bearable. The drain sites can be very sensitive if you Tarregon them at all, and that is very uncomfortable, but I am getting good at making sure that doesn't happen.
My butt is sore from sitting on it all day, but I make sure to get up and shuffle around the house a little bit every couple of hours. That helps a lot.
