So tired
So after the initial excitement has worn off I realize I am so exhausted, so easily all day long. I've been out a lot and the only thing that gets me through is alcohol for the fake energy but then u swell up like crazy. I know it's bad :-/ I know that people say that the exhaustion can last for several weeks but it is making me so irritable. I am normally high energy. Any suggestions?
I took off the tape today and am pleased with the very clean thin line. I'll be doing my research on scar care but have already picked up a box of scar away silicone strips.
Hope all is well.

So happy you have a thin scar, i hope it fades completely. Oh man my biggest fear is the exhaustion. I already suffer with super low energy, so i worry i will be a giant slug after surgery. When i asked the doctor they said to make sure to get plenty of rest, water eat the right foods, and take the vitamins on their list for after care. Alcohol is actually a depressant that will dehydrate and make you feel worse. I was told a few weeks after caffeine will be fine, it helps with energy and is a diuretic so wiil help with water retention. Hope you start feeling back to normal soon. Take it easy you have been thru alot.

Thanks for your response and the sweet compliment :-) yes the pain is bearable albeit annoying! But feeling tired all the time is killer. I know I should try some walking and focus on health instead of the alcohol. It's my lazy way out. Your comment about caffeine is super helpful I have been trying to avoid because of the diuretic properties (but then I go drink - go figure ;-P). I will get back to more water and maybe start coffee or tea. Thanks again!!

are you able to stand and walk straight?

Hi yes, I was able to stand up and walk straight comfortably by the 3rd day, though everyone's body seems to be different.

Let me add since my day 5 post op said I couldn't stand straight :-) I could definitely stand and walk upright but I could not stretch back which made me feel like I wasn't standing straight but my husband said I looked straight. I was sleeping straight without extra pillows by day 7 but was pretty sore when I woke up. Sorry the first week the days are all a little jumbled together.
