60 years old. Had so much burning pain during intercourse. Tried lubricants, vagifem and biest vaginal estrogen with no success. Dr. said Mona Lisa would work. Had the full course of 3 treatments. There is no Medicare rebate. After the 2nd I'd noticed an improvement, but several weeks after the 3rd, no improvement, and sex actually hurts just as bad as it did before treatment. I'm devastated.

I had 3 Mona Lisas. #4 is the zaps on outer entrance. So painful!
it is Worse than beore. I feel swollen, fleshy and bulgy. I was diagnosed with hypertonic pf in Fab '15. Saw physio Aug '15. She did ONLY ONE trigger point therapy. I saw her for 18 months. It is so had now.
I Had a vaginal hysterectomy in May 2016 & a repair.
After a wee it is so painful I nearly pass out. Imagine what I feel after a poop. It actually hurts my vagina too. Ii was ok for 5 months after surgery but muscles were more sore. The past 5 months i have had atrophy hence laser.
Apparently my pf on one side was torn from the bone.
I have 4 adult kids....2 were 9lb. I delivered easily except 3rd child (2nd 9lb) was posterior lie and forceps rel. My Cervix was pulled out, i tore badly, bruised internally for 14+ months. 4th child did help heal but since 2014 things have got really bad. After 3 laser & $18000 I'm feeling down
Can torn pf be fixed?
There is 1 pf physio here & she did not help hypers. I've had enough.

?I rang my gyno (5 weeks post 3rd treatment)

GoldcoasterAus

I rang my gyno (5 weeks post 3rd treatment) and she said to come in asap, no charge for visit. She had a look and said I am not healing well and have a chemical burn. Have been prescribed cortisone for near vaginal entrance and vagifem pessaries. She asked if I had pain while she inserted a finger, but I didn't. She said to come back in a month and I should feel better by then. She said at the 3rd treatment visit that I may need a 4th as some women need 4 treatments. She has now said she would not do a 4 th. mm??? I said I'd been devastated about the pain returning and that I thought it wasn't working. She said, "oh no..you'll be ok and it will work." But why wasn't I warned about any complications? I'm angry that I wasn't because possible complications should be mentioned before all med procedures. I've never had an issue with my skin not healing before. I'm not very confidant at this stage, that this will be 100% successful. My referring GP said everyone she'd referred to Dr Hassan had had great results, although she told me there was a medicare rebate, which was wrong. So no patients told her there was no rebate?, a bit odd.

I had this procedure done at Care for Women's Medical group and I was told the same thing after the second treatment I got a bacterial infection with had to delay the 3rd treatment until I was clear when I went back for the 3rd treatment she told me the same thing that I might need a 4th treatment I told her I was back to the pain dryness and it was worst then before she told me to go back in 6 weeks for a check up for a 4th treatment when I went back thinking I was going to get a 4th treatment she said no because i told her I was feeling worst she said she might have done too much and that weaken the vaginal walls now I am prone to getting bacterial infections very easy just treated for the second time I was told it work 100% and there was no secondary complications, before any body else spend so much money on this procedure you should really look into this is not for everybody to me I am devastated too I spent all this money for something it did not work and made me feel worst.

treatment for chemical burn after 3 rd Mona Lisa T

GoldcoasterAus
3 rd treatment 9.5 weeks ago. I have completed the 4 weeks of treatment with vagifem and Diprosone (corticosteriod, decreases inflammation) total cost $AU $57.50. Was told I'd feel better after completion of treatment. Had sex today and still a bit sore upon entry :( , but no pain after those first few seconds. There would have been a bit of lubrication from the Vagifem inserted the night before. Had a strong orgasm which I thought I'd never have again since all this horrible intercourse pain started a few years ago. I had actually feared I may have turned frigid as the thought of sex has been fearful to me.
Dr Hassan said I can have an annual laser treatment.

So MonaLisa Touch worked for you? Why the "not worth it" rating? It makes this life-changing procedure look tarnished when people say it's not worth it..

The lube from the Vagifem wouldn't be enough I don't think. What the pessaries do is moisturise the walls of the vagina. I'd strongly recommend a generous smear of coco butter oil which is pure and natural. A little messy but it lasts and doesn't require a "top up". Also too, I was given a very low dose of anti depressant to rid my anxiety. I'd convinced myself that I'd go through the roof with the pain if I had sex. They're working beautifully. It's a two week stint so that I don't become dependent on them. I'm so glad you experienced a super strong orgasm. That's the incentive to keep "the girl" working. She needs tender loving care too, so lubricate and bugger the mess! :-)
