So...I’m 45 years old and have been actively researching surgeons for rhinoplasty since 2010!!!! I have gone back and forth on whether or not I REALLY want to do this, not because I don’t know if I want to change the shape of my nose, but because of the unknown and the possibility that I may not like th outcome. I would like to trim down a bump that is just above the tip of my nose and also to refine the tip. I am looking for a subtle change in comparison to some of the rhinoplasty surgeries I see online. But subtlety can make a huge difference as well. I have been coming back to Dr. Grigoryants time and again because I love the results I see, and although, as we all know, there are some that are unhappy with their results, the majority are very happy. I am praying that I am one of Dr. G’s happy clients! :) I had my consultation with him last week, and I waited for him to evaluate my nose and give me his perspective and input before I discusse what I am seeking to change. As many others have stated, he knew withoug hesitation what he would do, which was on point of what I have in mind. One thing that he suggested that I told him I do not necessarily want to change is my nostrils. Although I do want to shorten them, he suggested making them smaller, as in, pulling them in. I think that might make my nose appear too slender at the tip. So, I will discuss this with him again during my pre-op, and because I do love the results he produces, I will decide after one more conversation with him. I am super nervous, not only about the possible outcome, but the recovery, specifically the congestion. I get claustrophobic easily and anxious. I’m afraid I will have an anxiety attack or something due to the severe congestion for several days....omg. So, my plan will be to stay on top of my pain meds and hopefully sleep A LOT, haha.

Im not sure. I did it all on my phone. Maybe there’s a difference between that and using a computer?

Make sure he does not lift your tip in any way as you already have high tip and a longer philtrum. He may be right about taking in your nostrils because when the nose is deprojected, the nostrils may look flared if not taken in. Don't worry your tip will not look too slim - he only takes in 1 mm on each side, not a significant change.

To be honest, your nose is not bad as it is.

Hello! I did tell him that I don’t want my tip raised because the space between my upper lip and nose is already long. He said he wouldn’t do that anyway

Pre-op appointment tomorrow

My pre-op appointment is tomorrow and surgery is in one month ???????? Any suggestions for discussion during my pre-op appt? Excited and verrrrry nervous about the potential outcome. Not knowing how my nose will look and whether or not I will be happy with it is scary to me. I’m also nervous about the first few days and discomfort of dry mouth from mouth breathing and all the other related issues during the first week. It’s very consistent that reviews indicate the emotional roller coaster during the first several months of healing and a changing nose. I hope I am able to cope well.
