Dark undereyes after rhinoplasty (photo)

This photo was taken about 16 days post-rhinoplasty. The bruising is almost all gone, but the circles under my eyes are so dark!!! Why is this? Do you think it's permanent? Is there anything i can do to minimize the darkness? This is really depressing me.

Yesterday I saw friends that don't know about my nose job; they didn't notice, which means it was a subtle change, yay! My nose is looking so so great and i look so much prettier than i did before, but i still look like me! I can't explain how pleased i am with the result.

I took pictures yesterday so i will be sending recent photos as well as photos from the first few days after cast removal; you'll notice how much my nose changed in just one week.

Thanks for the photos, in the latest one I noticed a very cute/subtle slope. He is great with that. Lol I think I'm just going to go in and say: "Can you just make my nose like your receptionists/staff" they all have very cute noses. Did you notice? :p I see your is becoming that way too.

Yes i did notice his staff's noses! I think you're going to love your result. He will make it look natural and it won't look like you just glued a nice nose on your face-- it'll actually blend with your facial features.
I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience! It's on Sept. 10, right? Good luck!! Eat pineapples in the next couple of days to minimize swelling; i wish i had done that because i was really depressed during recovery week from how swollen my eyes were.

Post-rhinoplasty dark under-eyes

My under-eyes are so so so much darker than they ever were before rhinoplasty. My bruising is almost all gone, but my under-eyes are very dark grey, so now i can never go out without applying concealer :(
To me, this is the most depressing part about the healing process. I don't care that my nose is swollen or piggy or avatar-like anymore; i just want my under-eyes to get lighter already! :'( ughh.

Omg I just realized something. Lol! I had my pre-op appointment on August 12th and Dr. G asked if I wanted to move my surgery to the Aug 20th since someone had cancelled/postponed and I told him I'd call work and find out if it would be possible to move it from Sept 10th to the sooner date.
But by the time I called in the next day someone else had already taken the date. It was you. :) I'm glad someone who really wanted it took it and that you updated usbin RealSelf. :)

It all worked out. My patents work probably wouldn't have accomodated the change of dated so I was hopeful kind of knew it wouldn't be possible so I wasn't disappointed when it didn't happen. I just thought it was a coincidence to find a fellow RealSelf-er had been the one to book it. :) Btw would you mind sharing your photos? fernandez_0506594@my.scccd.edu
