Less Than Two Weeks Away W/ Grigoryants - Glendale, CA

Update- VERY UNHAPPY

JK123
$9,500
I think with many people, their noses lose cartilage with age which is a reason for a doctor being subtle with the procedure. I have, since this procedure, had rhinoplasty recommended to me (usually subtly) much more than I ever did prior. Mine is now much larger than it was even swollen a couple of days after cast removal. My nose is not large in a way where it was before with the roman look, but in a more rounded way which I cannot stand unless it's tiny. It bothers me now more than it ever did before, and he could have taken twice as much off. Again, not happy and one hundred percent will need a revision, but the procedure was probably not worth going through again even if it were free.

Hello- would you be willing to post current pictures of your nose? I am planning on getting this procedure with this doctor soon and I want to make sure I'm making the right choice.

Happy with my profile today!

JK123
Despite the fact that I'm having a frizzy hair day and this pic was taken with horrible lighting, and I love my profile today! It's so weird to have 'good nose days'...

Nobody has noticed, although I think children do. They seem to study my face wondering what changed, but other adults really don't. One lady kept saying that something is different about me, I look great...did I dye my hair or something?

I really notice a difference when I smile, because my nose use to droop low. I'm much more comfortable smiling now.

Nostrils & front view

JK123
There is certainly a huge difference in my nostrils. I can't breathe too well yet, due to the swelling probably, and don't have much of a sense of smell. Food tastes much stronger and I can't stand too much salt or sugar, probably from all of those days without salt. I had a couple of glasses of wine yesterday- and didn't have any swelling! I'm pretty much back to a normal diet.

I have found a miracle anti-inflammatory supplement- turmeric pills!! They work better than Arnica. Also, I've been using Egyptian magic skin cream instead of vaseline in my nose, which is an unscented beeswax/olive oil/royal jelly mixture.

The front picture is an angle I NEVER would have wanted to take before, because it was my worst angle. It's funny how pictures are different because your worst angles change after rhinoplasty.

you really shouldn't be drinking so soon after rhino....

My papers from the doctor say ten days...I only had a glass and a half of a light wine. I'm not taking pain pills, so other than potential swelling I didn't see the harm.

What do you do with turmeric? Just pretty much add to your food? Or something specific?
December 8, 2014
i took it too-- it's a capsule...
December 8, 2014
Oh i see. I have ground turmeric, i add to smoothies and dressings. Didn't know there is a capsule. Tnx

It's a pill I have from Costco. They are huge and I take 3 a day. I wouldn't want to add that amount to my food, it would require a jar every couple of days and probably be bitter. Turmeric has a very distinct taste that I can only handle in small amounts if it weren't a pill.

looks so good! Have you had much discomfort from the alar/nostril reduction? I am worried about that for some reason;-)
December 9, 2014
No! Surprisingly having stitches in your nostrils aren't as uncomfortable as not being able to breathe out your nose for a period. The dis-solvable stitches came out around day four, which I think is a little early but it seems fine. They kept attaching/sticking to my drip pad and coming out until I finally started lubricating my drip pad. I never realized how sticky blood is. There were periods in the first few days of recovery where I had long stitches hanging out of my nose that I didn't want to pull out, which was a little awkward. Sorry for the grossness factor of all that.

is it pretty easily covered with makeup?
December 9, 2014
completely covered with makeup, and easy to cover. It's not really an angle people can easily see anyway. I've had bigger issues with my tape leaving noticeable imprints in my nose, which isn't as easily covered.

Alcohol thins your blood and in order to prevent scar tissue as much as possible, they don't want bleeding...
December 9, 2014
Thanks for the concern. A glass of light wine to celebrate close to the two week mark when bleeding is finished isn't a big concern according to most surgeons as long as you aren't taking pain meds. I probably won't have another till christmas, but wanted to celebrate the new nose. Bleeding didn't increase and I had no adverse reactions, but then again the alcohol content in this particular wine was low.
