Important Info for Prospective Rhinoplasty Patients

Noses take forever to heal. Looking back at photos, I honestly think my nose took 3 years to get to a 100% stable position. I still think it swells a tiny bit in the beginning of the day. By a year it was probably at 98%. Advice I'd give anyone getting any type of plastic surgery is ask the surgeon/ find pictures in their before and afters for someone who looks like you (body or face feature depending on what you want to alter). They can only do so much with what they have, so it's good to familiarize yourself with their capabilities as well as, what they have done with similar features in the past.

I had rhinoplasty over five years ago and let me tell you I am not disappointed. I have always hated my nose and thought that although it gave my face character, it also dominated my face. Being teased for years about it probably didn't help. I'm mixed but I didn't want an ethnic looking nose (they're beautiful but not my aesthetic).
So for years I did my research, went on consults and found Dr. Grigoryants. When I came into his office we discussed my aesthetic preferences and he told me what was possible. He took a couple of photos of me and illustrated in Photoshop what he would do (my nose looks better than the 'shopped image btw). He did a lot of grafting on the tip of my nose, added cartilage to the top part of my bridge and shaved down my bump.
After the surgery I threw up blood (because I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia) or perhaps I had swallowed blood during the surgery but other than that had no other adverse reactions. I looked horrible for the first two weeks because of the swelling (Miss Piggy) . But slowly the swelling went down (noses take a long time to heal and they heal in stages- about a year to see 100%).
I do not regret getting a nose job in the slightest. It is cute, natural looking and exactly what I wanted. When I first started dating my boyfriend I confided in him that I had work done- he didn't believe me at first. That's the sign of good work. Do your research and know what you want during your consultation! I had 5 consultations with other well- known surgeons before I chose the one I wanted. I see so many people get conned into going with a surgeon who is charming but less skilled.

He is extremely skilled, smart and I liked his "aesthetic" the best. His work was the best in California (imho) for the type of nose I wanted (cute, upturned and sloped). He has a surgeon's personality which isn't the most p.r. bubbly, hold your hand type (he likened my pre-opt nose to that of "a duck" lol ) but I appreciated his honestly and I still found him kind and attentive.
