Hi, did you go see Dr. Grigoryants? Who are you going to have your surgery with?
February 25, 2013
Yeah I'm seeing him next mth. I have a good feeling about him though. I just want at least 5 options. He does his surgeries out of verdugo hospital which is a great hosp. However tends to be more expensive.
February 28, 2013
I have like 5 appointment with different drs. I'm gonna take my time and make sure I get the best ps that spec. In rhino. Plan on doing it in beg to mid April.
February 28, 2013
Dont be scared. You will either feel really comfortable or you will wanna run. If you don't feel rt. about him keep looking till you find the rt. one. I've seen people that have had their nose done by a ps that does primarily breast and Tt and the body looks amazing. But nose looks horrible. So do as many consults as you can. My nose is in his hands. That's why a good ps will take his time with you and show you lots of noses similar to yours. You're interviewing him.
February 28, 2013
Thank you! I am excited and nervous. I am flying to see him from Chicago.
February 28, 2013
Good for you! Do as much research as possible don't jupm into anything. I thought I did my research but looks like not enough. I am now looking for a revision doct. :(
February 28, 2013
Well mine is a revision its hard to hear what other surgeons think. ; (
March 5, 2013
Yes he is ENT and Plastic surgeon. He also works out of one of the top hospitals in the country which is why I went with him and his pictures looked great. He also fixed an ulceration on my bridge after the accident and did an incredible job. I have 10 stitches across my bridge and even I cannot find it any longer. I am a bit puzzled why my rhinoplasty come out the way it did when I have seen his patients and they all look great. I only found 2 or 3 bad reviews about him. I just don't know? :( I guess every surgeon has a bad case I am just an unfortunate one. I think my guy is not very skilled doing closed rhino as all his happy patients had closed rhino. I am thinking he underestimated my nose. :(

February 28, 2013
I want to schedule a consultation with Grigoryants as well but for some reason I am so nervous to even do that! I'm not sure why. You should post some photos of your nose! Please update us on your consult with him later next month!

I went to see Dr. Grigoryants in Glendale. He is very nice and honest.. I ended up hearing what I didn't want to hear. He told me my nose is to difficult to fix due to the asymmetry of my face:/ damn! Never thought my face was crooked. I respect a doctor though that won't just take your money and end up not being fixed or worse. He did one of the girls nose who was very sweet who worked front office.. She was beautiful her nose was perfect. I trust his opinion. I am going to try fillers as he agreed may correct it. I did some research on non surgical nose jobs pretty amazing. I also scheduled an appt. with a dr Elam who is in Newport for 2nd opinion. Everyone is telling me leave it alone to trust a dr. That dosnt wanna take your money. On the other hand what if dr Elam can fix it..I'm at a crossroads..opinions please:*(

Well, one thing for sure Dr. G is not going to just take your money. I have heard stories of people that were told not to do a nose job because of whatever reason and they went ahead and did it with someone else. Guess what? They are now looking for their 3rd revision and saying that they should have listed to Dr. G. List to the doctor that is not after your money but is being honest. I respect Dr. G now more than ever. He was very honest with me too. He told me that my surgeon didn't do a horrible job and that it would be cheaper and better to go with my original surgeon to fix my nose issues as he already knows my nose and knows what he did. He must have said that 3 times in my consultation but after I told him that it's my face and its not about money he proceeded with his plan of action. Definitely and honest surgeon!
March 21, 2013
Yeah I totally trust him. Im gonna try fillers with him first. Mentally I can't stand to hear another dr. Tell me it's not fixable and to scared to go against what Dr G has told me. He is one of the best and would know I'm not trying to go through a revision and end up worse off. The fillers last about 8 mths. I'm scheduled next mth to try it. Thank you for your feed back and support.

Good for you! However there is no harm in getting another opinion but just don't get suckered into a surgery you do not need. If I didn't break my nose I would not have EVER been on this site or knew how to spell rhinoplasty. I had a little bit of a roman nose as its my ethnic nose and I had absolutely no problem with it but now I don't think my ethnicity is there anymore. However I would have loved the nose that I got from my surgeon if it didn't have so many flaws. Now its a decision making who to go with for a revision, my original surgeon or another one like Dr. G. Its very hard to decide. If I was in your spot and a surgeon told me don't touch your nose surgically than I would totally trust that surgeon. After all he has nothing to gain by telling you that, he could have just said yeah hand me $10K and lets get you in the OR. Dr. G told me he won't touch my nose for another 3+ months because he doesn't feel my nose is done healing yet. However other surgeons are happy to take me to the OR right now if I write a check. Thank God you did more research than I did.
March 21, 2013
I'm sorry your going through that.:/ talking to you also is helping me..I pray you find the rt. one. Yeah I live an hour n a half away from the other ps. and just not prepared mentally yet. Dr G pointed to a picture of a model on an advertisement photo on his wall and said look at her nose it's crooked but her face is asymmetric but not noticeable. The funny thing is while waiting in the room I looked at the poster and thought to myself her nose isn't straight.lol... We are our own worse critics. Because my nose is so small unless I point it out people don't notice it.. But I'm so self conscious uggh...
March 21, 2013
Thank you Trybre! I am glad that my journey and knowledge helps you. If nothing else at least it helps others. My nose is not terrible, funny thing is only when you take a pictures is when you realize how many things are wrong with my nose. In person its not so much noticeable but the surgeon and I both know what's wrong with my nose. I would have totally loved it if those things were not there. My original surgeon is more than willing to fix it and he acknowledges those issues. However I have to make sure I make right decision this time around. And sine my surgery I cannot stop looking at people's noses and sometimes wonder if they were done or if they are natural. Interesting enough I can tell on some women that their noses are done. Its the most pathetic thing ever. I never ever noticed noses before let alone imperfections of faces. :) Its literally driving me crazy. No one's nose out there is perfect its just a matter of perception. :)
March 21, 2013
BTW I flew to see Dr. G all the way from Chicago. If I go with him for my revision I will have to stay in the hotel for 6 days after the surgery before I can go home. So far he is at the top of my list. :)
March 21, 2013
Ahaha glad in not alone I went out and kept starring at this lady she caught me and I just said you have a really nice nose. She prob. Thought I was crazy...lol
March 21, 2013
I live pretty close Maybe I can visit or something. Or if you need anything I'm here:) I had all my kids there in Glendale. That's another good thing about Dr G. He does it out of the best Hospital. They are awesome. I just feel safer.
March 21, 2013
Thank you for your offer! I really appreciate it! I will be back there sometime in August to see him one more time before I decide who I go with. Who knows maybe I will just go there for my pre-op and a surgery in August but I am not 100% yet. I am trying to weight all my options and make right decisions. I have a bit of time yet. Glad to know that is a good hospital. :)
March 21, 2013
I don't really understand what he means by it being too difficult to fix due to the asymmetry of your face? I'm now wondering about my own face and if I would have the same problem.
March 21, 2013
You need to send him an email with your pictures and find out. Every surgeon is different. For example everyone's faces are not symmetrical some are more so than others. When you do a rhinoplasty you change the shape of the nose therefore it has to match the symmetry of your face. If he feels that he will do more harm than good he will tell you that a rhinoplasty is not for you. Changing your nose is going to change the way your face is being presented to you and everyone else. There are times surgeon believe its too difficult to make a nose symmetrical with a face that has many symmetry flaws. It doesn't mean the person is ugly or that everyone can see it, it just means making changes to your nose will show more of those flaws and will not make things look good. I really think you should either see the surgeon and/or email him your pictures and ask what he thinks about it.
March 21, 2013
Dr G will be able to tell you. Everything he said made sense though:/... Maybe fillers would be a good option for you too. I don't know but kinda excited to see how it turns out with fillers. My nose is very small so it prob makes it more difficult.
March 21, 2013
Good luck! You are being very smart about this entire thing. :) Wish you the very best!
March 21, 2013
My nose is big so I don't need fillers. I need a bump removed and it narrowed on the bridge. I'm worried that my eyes will be more obviously asymmetrical after a rhino. Maybe I can talk to the next two consults I'm having. I wish I could go to Dr. G but he is just too far for me.
March 21, 2013
Actually fillers make your nose appear smaller they inject above and below the bump and in the tip to lift it. It's amazing!!! And if you like it they have perm. Fillers. I did a lot of research. I'm telling you. I watched the one girl on YouTube she had a big hump and didn't like her nose as it was too big for her face at the end if her injections of fillers you would swear she had surgery.
March 21, 2013
Rayah7, I went to see Dr. G and I live in Chicago. Sometimes its not about where the surgeon is at but what he can do for you. You can send him your pictures and he will consult with you over emails. If you feel he is worth for you to see him than you book an appointment in person and fly over to see him. I was able to book a flight very cheap and my trip didn't cost me that much. Personally I think a good surgeon is worth to fly for. I live in a state that has the best surgeons but yet I didn't click with any of them that is why I am looking elsewhere.
March 21, 2013
Renap1, I see. Yes a good surgeon is worth the distance. But the three surgeons I'm interested in are very good as well and if they work out that would be great. And actually two of them are still a three hour drive for me. Dr. G is more like 8-9 hour drive and I don't have the money to spend on a flight nor accommodation's. But if the surgeons I'm interested in right now and am going to consult with soon don't work out I will probably have to make the trip somehow to Dr. G or another Doc in Southern Ca. Also I have a 17 month old which just makes all of this that much harder to do.
March 21, 2013
Yes, I know but I have a deviated septum that needs fixing anyway and my nose is wide and and a little crooked. If I only had a hump it would work but it has a little more that needs to be done to it.
March 21, 2013
I understand. If you like surgeons' that are not as far for you that's great. I went to see 4 top surgeons in Chicago and although I sort of liked one I am still not too thrilled with his surgical plan. So here I am looking for a surgeon outside of IL.
March 21, 2013
Yeah. I'm lucky to be in Ca. But I'm in Northern Ca. All of the surgeons in San Francisco and most of the Bay area I didn't like. So the ones I'm really interested in are Dr. Mabourkh and Dr. Clutter who are in Folsom ( a few hours from me) and Dr. Jacobs which is really close to me. I am hoping Jacobs works out because he is about 20 minutes away from me in Healdsburg. Apparently he is "world renown" but actually that only makes me question him even more haha. I had a fantastic consult with Dr. Clutter and on the 8th and 9th of April I have consults with the other two. I can't wait! After that I will decide who I will have do my surgery and book it. That is if I like them enough. But honestly I really like Dr. Clutter. So I might just go with him. Ok I'll stop rambling now... sorry. ;)
March 21, 2013
I heard some good things about Dr. Clutter but I don't know any of the other surgeons. However I am looking for a revision surgeon so those other guys may not specializing in revisions which is probably why I didn't look into them. Take your time deciding, don't rush, and don't pick a surgeon because he is close to home. Good luck to you! I truly wish you the very best. I think you area already on the right path as you are doing a lot of research. Word of advice, don't look at just reviews online, try to find real patients of the doctor you are considering and ask for before/after pictures as well as when the surgery was done. Longevity of rhinoplasty is the key!
March 21, 2013
ahaha no not rambling I enjoy feed back and stories I enjoy it. We have to stick together :). Yeah im the same way when someone brags so much about a ps it makes me dig even deeper lol. I want to post photos but havnt figured it out.
March 21, 2013
Yeah but your doing the rt thing.. I would rather travel. Than end up with a bad result.
March 21, 2013
That's basically where I am at right now. My husband cannot believe that I just pickup and go to CA and FL to see doctors. I had a crazy day seeing Dr. G. I flew out of Chicago on Friday at 8:30pm CST got to CA at 11:30pm (1:30am Chicago time), got into a hotel around 12:30pm CA time, had an appointment the next day on Saturday at 2:00pm and had a flight back home to Chicago at 11:30pm CA time. I did however spend some time shopping at Americana mall. LOL
March 21, 2013
Oh and I got home at 5:30am CST the next day on Sunday. :) Crazy but well worth it!
March 21, 2013
Oh I see..then yeah your not a candidate. I also have a deviated septum and had a septoplasty by the doc that did a Tt and mastopexy. At the same time thinking it would straighten my nose:) I woke up all drugged up my husband and nurse holding my arms as I wanted to see my nose I asked the nurse how's my nose. She replied well your breasts look amazing. A cple wks ltr cast came off and it stared off looking straight but mths went by and it still crooked. Ughh
March 21, 2013
Septum has memory it can shift back to its original place. Sometimes surgeons have to stitch it in order to keep it from moving. Sorry that happened to you. I had a septoplasty when I was 17 but lucky for me my septum stayed in its place except I still had breathing problems. This surgery somehow fixed my breathing problem but my nose is uneven now. I am not sure which one is worse. ;)
March 21, 2013
I am thinking my husband will go with me and stay there for a week. He took care of my the first time around. ;) He just doesn't like to fly out with me to see all these doctors so I do it myself. :)
March 21, 2013
Yes, the shopping was great! You guys have such awesome weather and the food is great too. I spent the rest of the day at that outside mall and enjoyed the weather. Since IL is so cold this was a huge treat for me. :)
March 21, 2013
I was referred to Dr. Rollin Daniel from another PS. You could try him. He is good too. http://www.drrollindaniel.com/
