I’m loving how my nose is looking! Looking forward to it slimming down and looking way less swollen! I’ve always wanted a nice defined shape and love how it looks from this side. Other side is way more swollen and less defined. He performed the closed rhino through the other nostril so I’m thinking that’s why. But so far so good!

What did he do during your procedure, did he describe it? My surgery with him was more intense. Yours looks good! The swelling really does continue to go down for like a year. Don't worry!
September 19, 2018
I meant, my nose was more screwed up so my surgery took more work than the average one. Not that yours wasn't intense. I had a deviated septum, like crooked c-shape, and a hump.

Yeah mine was also a lot so he said my recovery and swelling will be way longer than the average patient. He fixed my deviated septum, put grafts in, narrowed my nostrils, lifted my nose and removed my hump. My deviation was pretty bad so I know that was a lot of work. My surgery was like 3 hours long!

I had my surgery the 16th at the surgery center in LA. Went very smoothly, I was the first case of the day so got there very early. I was extremely anxious going in so the nurse asked for some anti anxiety meds for me which definitely helped put me at ease. Dr G fixed my deviated septum, put grafts in, shaved my dorsal hump and turbinates narrowed my nostrils and slightly lifted up my tip. I said I didn’t want a ski slope from the profile so he said he lifted it up as minimially as he deemed possible. The first 6 days I’d say we’re absolutely miserable haha The bed at my Airbnb was so uncomfortable and I actually was in a lot more pain than I thought I would be. I pretty much took all of the Norco said he had prescribed and then I was taking some Tylenol on top of that. I think I just got a lot of work done so I might just be a one off kind of situation I’m sure not everyone and is in as much pain as I was. I am almost two weeks out and I’m pretty happy. There’s obviously a lot of swelling and I know I’m going to have to be patient for the next year but I think that this is a really good start! I still have a lot of internal swelling inside of my nostrils and my upper lip is still almost completely frozen so hopefully that will go away in the next month or so!
Also, forgot to add... apparently I’m allergic to the white paper tape for the drainage collection! I have a huge scar on my upper left cheek that you can kind of see in some pictures I’m hoping that will go away. I keep putting Mederma on it!

It looks fantastic!

Your nose looks really good. :)
September 19, 2018
Would you say you have thin or thick skin? Just wondering, because everyone says thick skin is more difficult to get a good outcome. Yours looks good. :)

very thick!! unfortunately but i think the outcome looks good but i think overall the issue with thick skin is it takes a VERY long time for your skin to kind of shrink wrap around the nose. thin skin wraps nicely around the new nose but thick skin + swelling makes the nose look bigger than it should for a very long time.

Having second thoughts

So the date of my surgery is fast approaching and I’ve been having second thoughts. The more reviews that I look at the more that I notice a lot of the noses look a bit wide. I’m really looking for a long thin nose so now I’m super anxious. I know that if I cancel the surgery or rebook it it won’t make me feel good in the long run because I am super unhappy with the way I look now. Here are some really bad pictures of me that are motivation for me to go through with the surgery hahah.

I’m having rhinoplasty on 7/12 with Grigoryants and I’m in the same boat as you. I’m sure we will love our noses after and be so relieved/happy we did it. But holy moly, that voice in the back of my head saying “do I really need this?” is very loud!
June 12, 2018
Your before pictures look great but I understand why you would want to go to him. Im the same way, my nose isn’t bad, but it’s just something that’s always bugged me. The nice thing about Grigoryants though is that he typically does whatever shape suits your face- I’m sure if you’re clear about wanting it to be narrow, he’ll do a great job with that. I have my pre op this Saturday. Good news is you can pay or back out after the appointment if you decide it’s really not for you. If we both decide to go through with it, I’ll keep you updated since mine would be a couple days before yours.

Perfect!!! Wait why is your pre op so early?
June 12, 2018
When I called to schedule an appointment a free days ago, they asked if I wanted my pre-op to be a month before or the night before
June 12, 2018
A few days ago*
June 12, 2018
I originally had my rhinoplasty scheduled or June 28th so I think they only pushed back my pre op a week... I wish it was later though since I’m so nervous!

I know!! The permanence of this decision is over whelming
June 13, 2018
I went through literally every emotion before my surgery with Dr G . I completely understand. I’m a little over two weeks post op and the swelling is very annoying. My nose looks good in the morning and big by the end of day so be prepared to continue this emotional roller coaster! I am still glad I did it but it is not easy.

Hey! I agree I’m definitely freaking out. Your pictures look unbelievable though and ur swelling is at a minimum compared to other pics. Did you discuss a spreader graft and turbinate reduction w him? I know people keep posting negative comments related to those things and just wanna make sure it’s not a reoccurring issue w other patients
June 18, 2018
Yes I had spreader graphs. We talked about it in my pre op if I’m honest it terrified me too. I honestly have no idea about the turbinate reduction.. I should probably know that haha. But listen I look at my nose and it is better than before and to me it was worth it. I’ve said this before to a few other people but every unhappy person posts about their experience but not every happy person posts. Take the reviews with a grain of salt. And take a deep breathe. I went through exactly what you are feeling a month ago... you’ll get through it and you’ll be happy. At least I think you will!
June 13, 2018
Also I think the noses you see look wide is because the swelling takes so long from the front view! Maybe check how long they are post op.

Makes sense. Well I’m freaking out even more haha it increases everyday we get closer. I’m trying to be positive and keep reminding myself why I chose him and how I was initially impressed w his before and afters. It is hard to maintain that positivity esp w some negative reviews on here
