I researched for 3 years before having surgery. I found Dr. G from all his wonderful Realself reviews. I'm so happy I made the right choice!!! I couldn't have found a better surgeon. He is kind, caring, humble, and very very skilled! He is absolutely wonderful and my experience couldn't have been better.

I hadn't met him until the night before surgery and I literally walked out of my consultation with a huge smile on my face. It turned out I had a deviated septum as well but my insurance isn't covered by him- oh well! I had brought a few pics of noses I liked and he looked at one and immediately started listing all the things that were wrong and said I already had a better nose than her. I was cracking up, but I immediately knew he was very knowledgeable about this. I felt 100% confident in my choice. He also gave me the option between shaving the bridge into a slope and that way the tip would be lifted, or he could just lift the tip itself. I chose the latter. I have a straight profile naturally and I didn't want that to change. I said I think a slope is cuter but straight is more natural and he agreed.

I didn't get nauseous after surgery. Just tired and sensitive to sound kind of like having the flu. My cast came loose by day 5 and he said that was fine- it happens with oily skin.

Make sure you have water by your bedside. You will sleep breathing through your mouth and you will wake up with very intense dry throat for the week your cast is on. If you are traveling I recommend Comfort Inn near Oldtown Pasadena Eagle Rock. It was very clean and around $110 a night.

Well I can't say how happy I am with the results already! I expected an emotional roller coaster like some people say, but I have to admit I've known I was happy since a few days after my cast came off and haven't worried since. The biggest thing I was worried for was anticipating that emotional rollercoaster- can't believe I won't even have to go through it like I was convinced I would. I also can't believe my nose will look even better in a year. He said I have thick skin and 80% of swelling will be gone in 1 year, but 3 years for final results. For now I'm focusing on the new guy I'm seeing. I told him about surgery 2 weeks before I had it and he was totally supportive! Im happy to have a distraction to take my mind off my nose- good timing haha

The biggest difference I see right now is the liftedness in the tip. I didn't realize I had a droopy tip until he operated lol! Having it higher makes it look sooo much smaller. Overall the cartilages don't look smaller yet because of swelling. But having it lifted makes it look muuuch less noticeable already.

Feel free to comment with questions or comments! I will keep updating as swelling decreases:)

I love your nose! I have my surgery on the 26th of May! And I'm more worried about the bruising part after surgery! It looks like your didn't have much bruising which is great!
May 5, 2015
Thank you so much! Don't worry about bruising- ice and use cover up :) mine wasn't too terrible. I'll add a bruising pic from the first few days in a minute.
May 5, 2015
Wow, I hope I am only as bruised as you were! I am attending a course on my 11th day post op. How are you feeling at this point? Would you be uncomfortable or tired? Would you wonder if people who don't know you would be aware that you had surgery? Thanks for your help!

I'm feeling completely back to normal. I felt capable of driving, being around bright lights and annoying sounds like construction or loud music about 3-4 days after surgery. It's not too intense of a recovery. I was just tired and irritable- too tired to focus on tv or a book the first day. A bit better the 2nd day but not up to leaving the hotel room for longer than lunch yet. The last half of the week I went to the beach, shopping, etc and felt fine being out and about for hours. I did wonder if people would know. No one has noticed! I went back to work yesterday and saw 4 people who see me regularly (I work alone so these were just tenants I talk to and see almost every day). They didn't even look at me weird. The thing is you swell so you won't look wildly different at first (my nose looks just a bt smaller than before so far) and people don't focus on your nose anyway. If you think of an acquaintance you've only met a few times, I bet you can easily recall their eye color but would have a hard time describing what their nose looked like. You can always dye your hair if you're worried. People may think you look different but they'll never be able to figure out why :)

I'm also from Seattle and considering Dr. Grigoryant for rhinoplasty. Did you have an initial consult via telephone?
May 6, 2015
Nope- I emailed him

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'll be following your progress. . . but so far your nose looks really good! One more quick question. . . How long was the wait time between your email consultation and your surgery date?
May 6, 2015
I didn't book right away. But when I called to book he has a 6 month wait period. He is very busy, but worth it. You can request to be on their cancellation list too.

I have a couple more consults in my surrounding area (from Boston, but interviewing in NY and PA) and I am still leaning towards traveling to Cali to have Dr. G as a surgeon. I've started my email consult with him, though I still have a few more questions to ask. Thank you for your success story! Your nose looks absolutely amazing :)

I am so happy! Swelling is still going down. It's gotten much thinner in the middle especially. I can't get over how non-noticeable it is in pictures now. Thank you Dr. G!!!

You look so pretty. I was wondering if you can tell me if you were allowed to wash your hair after surgery , or you had to wait until the cast was off.
Thank you for sharing!

Thanks so much!! They didnt specify. I did wash my hair I think but was careful to not get my face wet. just keep the water on low pressure on point the nozzle down and you'll be fine

My cast fell off before the 1st week was up after surgery. Doc said it was okay, sometimes that happens with oily skin

Still happy

legallyblonde502
Hi guys, I am still very happy with my new nose. Every few months I see some more small changes. I'm trying to find better before pictures, I feel I can't find many :(

I wouldn't say my nose is radically smaller, but it is shaped much better and the tip is higher making it look cuter.
