Dear all, I have been seriously considering...

Dear all,

I have been seriously considering fixing my nose for the past few years. I have increasingly disliked how crooked it looks. I spent many, many hours looking at the before-and-after photos of the work of various surgeons, both in the U.S. and South America. Eventually, I decided on Dr. Grigoryants. The majority of his procedures appear absolutely flawless and beautiful.

In July 2015, I scheduled my septorhinoplasty for March 2016. In the interim, I've been reading Dr. G's reviews on this website. It's proved extremely useful! Thank you to all of the contributors. Although I am a very private person, I would like to pay forward the benefit that I have received through reading everyone's reviews and viewing the before-and-after pictures.

I am traveling all the way from Boston with my amazing and loving husband. We'll be staying at an Airbnb near Glendale. The pre-operative exams are taken care of and the flights and car rental are booked.

Admittedly, my anxiety has increased dramatically over the past few weeks. I expect it will grow even more intense as time approaches. Wish me luck!! :)

It is such a nerve wrecking decision to make! We're putting our appearances and health in the hands of a doctor! I wish you the best of luck! He is also my doctor of choice and I chose him for the same reason :)
February 15, 2016
It is in fact a VERY hard decision. My anxiety grows as I get closer. When is your surgery date? Thank you and good luck to you, too :)
February 15, 2016
I haven't chosen the date. The office has august 24th open and that day will perfectly for me but I don't feel ready to set the date yet. I feel I need to speak to a few more girls and continue researching other doctors for a few more weeks. I've been researching doctors since September and I'm pretty sure Dr. Grigoryants is the best rhinoplasty doctor out there. I'm fishing for bad reviews or anything that should be alarming. You're in great hands! I'm starting to feel like I wouldn't let anyone but Dr. G any where my nose :)

I booked mine for August 26th :)

Good luck!!! I'll post more pics post op :)

That's great!! I'm going to call and book mine on March 1. Hopefully there's more August appointment!
February 14, 2016
good luck! i am sure Dr G will do an amazing job and you will look even prettier. Thank you for posting a review
February 15, 2016
Thank you :) I will post more pics after surgery!

Will insurance cover any of your procedure? I have a deviated septum as well and was hoping he takes insurance to cover some of the cost. Thanxs in advance for your reply! Good luck!

Hi Maria! Dr. G is out of network, but my health insurance provider -- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) -- will reimburse 70% of the cost of the septoplasty and turbinate reduction. Also, I have about 2,500 sitting in a HSA which can only be applied towards strictly medical costs.

Dr. G's office says that a large portion of the cost would be functional and they would give me an itemized receipt after surgery. I hope this helps! :)
February 15, 2016
Yes, it helps! Last question what is HSA? Thank you so much for your reply! Best of luck to you!
February 15, 2016
HSA stands for Health Savings Account. I got this definition from Google:
A health savings account (HSA) is a tax-advantaged medical savings account available to taxpayers in the United States who are enrolled in a high-deductible health plan (HDHP). The funds contributed to an account are not subject to federal income tax at the time of deposit.

Are you having septorhinoplasty with Dr. G, too? Thanks for the well wishes :)

My wish is to have surgery with Dr. G. I've had nose surgery before but it looks so bad know. I've been really careful his second time around to look pictures and to find feedback that tells me he is a good Dr. I think Dr. G is the one . Thanxs for answering my questions!
February 21, 2016
Did you need to get diagnosed with a deviated septum with another physician? I think I might have a deviated septum too and I hope my insurance will cover it
February 22, 2016
So I got ct scans and it clearly shows the deviation. The radiologist and dr. G confirmed it. Blue cross of MA covers it. I'm not sure if other insurers would cover it.
February 20, 2016
I booked mine for august 26th :)
February 21, 2016
goodluck, I's a few days after you, and i'm also nervous. my date is for march 8th.
February 22, 2016
Thank you!!!! I'm so nervous.

Hi All, Today is day six after surgery. Here are some pics from the surgery day and today. Even though my nose and the rest of the face is still very swollen, I absolutely LOVE my new nose!! The cast came off yesterday and I can't express how happy and grateful I am. Dr. Grigoryants is an outstanding surgeon, he knew exactly what needed to be changed. He achieved it with such perfection that it looks natural, yet beautiful. Dr. G and his staff were also very quick to respond to my inquiries via both phone and email. I wish I had updated this post every day from the surgery date, however, the recovery was a little bit harsh for me, especially during the first few days. On the day of the surgery, I vomited (blood) for about ten hours after the surgery. Initially, this seemed due to the anesthesia and the blood that the suction missed and found its way into my stomach. I suspect that the painkiller (hydrocodone) prolonged my nausea. The anti-nausea medication did not help, so I decided to switch to extra strength Tylenol. Also, yesterday (cast removal day) I passed out in the shower. It seems I spent too much time in hot water so keep that in mind :) I hope this review helps other make a wise decision!

Sorry to hear about the tough recovery, throwing up blood is normal, as you know..thanks for letting us know about the hot shower and passing out - you probably hadn't eaten much those few previous days either... Your new nose looks great! Did you have any surgery on it before, or was it like that originally? Anyway, glad you are happy with the results. It didn't look too bad before, but looks better now! I am scheduled for 3/23, very nervous! (but excited) :-)
