Hi all. So, my nose was never really a concern to me until this past year. I don't know what triggered it, but all of a sudden I started noticing things about my nose and ever since I have not been able to get it out of my head. Matter of fact, the more I focus on my nose the worse I feel like it gets. Anyways, I'm pretty set on getting rhinoplasty. I live in LA and have already been to a consultation with Dr. Grigoryants. I don't really have a problem with my side profile, its the front that really bothers me. My tip is very bulbous and I feel like while my other features are small, my nose is big and ultimately just does not fit my face very well. I would love to have a smaller tip and more defined nose! At the consultation with Dr. Grigoryants, he told me he would make the tip smaller and also shave a little off my nose to make it shorter. He told me this would really bring out my eyes more, and I believe him. I am lucky to have a boyfriend who loves me and tells me "I don't see anything wrong with your nose. I love you the way you are," but at this point this is something that I want to do for myself. For my own confidence. In all my selfies, I am always tilting my head to the side because that is really the only angle I feel comfortable with. I don't want to only feel confident from a side angle. I want to be able to look people dead in the face and be just as confident!! What is holding me back is money. I am a third year college student and I have loans to repay- and I also have never had a credit card so I have no credit, but I am going to get one, so that hopefully within the next year I'll have established good credit. My parents would drop dead if they found out I was interested in rhinoplasty. I am trying really hard to save up to have enough to pay off half my loans, and then pay about half of the rhinoplasty down and the other half with one of the loan providers Dr. Grigoryants supports. I am tired of looking in the mirror and being annoyed with my nose. I just want to get this over with and be happy and fully confident.

Looks like what you want is extremely subtle. You might consider saving up first rather than taking out unsecured debt with high interest on a card. Of course it's up to you, but I think it is slightly unprofessional of doctors to help people go into debt unless the person's features are very far away from the norm, which you of course aren't -- you look what many people want as an 'after'. I am not trying to rain on your parade, I wish you best of luck whatever you decide. xx

Good luck with everything! I truly believe in Dr G and hope you have an excellent experience with him. The reason I chose him in the first place was because I think he is the only surgeon who improves not only the profile but the front view. My profile isn't great but it's reasonable, however my tip is wide and bulbous. I understand completely how you feel about your nose and definitely think going with Dr G is a great plan. All the best to you :)

You should also consult with Dr. Susan L. Chibanian. She is a lot more affordable than Grigoryants and in my opinion does better work due to the gears of experience. I had an email consult with Grigoryants and was displeased, and the price was almost 11k. I have a nose like yours, too big for my small face and bulbous but no hump. I went to Dr. Chobanian and adored her and booked my surgery right away. Also, my surgery was a fraction of what I was quoted by Grigoryants. I had my rhinoplasty a few weeks ago by Dr. Chobanian with a chin implant and I am so in love with my beautiful nose that fits my face. I am not trying to deter you from getting your nose done by Dr. G., but you should go on more consults to get better ideas of cost and work. Like you, I was a college student who just graduated with loans I had just paid off so I know the situation you are in. The only downside with Chobanian is that there aren't a lot of online reviews or before and after photos, but if you go for a consult you see all the happy people at the office coming in for post ops and showcasing their beautiful noses.

You should do a review.

I should!

I second that! I would love to see your results. Right now there is only one review on Real Self for Dr. Chobanian, but the reviewer shares your enthusiasm for her work and her photos are lovely!

Just posted a review of my first before and after. Once the swelling goes down I will update!

I think the only reason the price Dr. G quoted you is lower than everyone else's is because you don't need a lot of work at all. I personally really like your nose from the front and wish I had it. Like the other commenter said, I would save up so that you don't have to pay back loans and interest for something you can do anytime. Dr. G is not going anywhere! I would also tell your parents and convince them that this is what you want because you never know how good support feels :). Just my opinion.

I think you need a buy a new mirror. You are a beautiful girl. Wow! Natural beauty. I think the sign of a truly great doctor would be that he does a thorough assessment of your situation and that INCLUDES your finances. To me doctor who would advise you to get a surgery when you are a natural beauty to begin with, is not a responsible caring person. That is my opinion. I was considering this doctor for a revision, but after reading that given you situation he did not advise you to wait until you save money, I would NOT go to see him. That's just me though, to me that is a doctor who, god forbid something bad happens, will not own his mistake.

I've gotten mixed feedback from this users on this site. Trying to determine whether I'm being ridiculous or reasonable. I don't know anymore.

I'm fine with the way I look when I'm all done up.. hair and make up done.. It's when I don't have makeup on that my nose bothers me. And I don't exactly like wearing makeup.

I don't want to get surgery and possibly mess up my nose. I also don't want to look in the mirror and think "what if" my entire life. Confused.

I have the same issue as you - the bulbous tip. Mine is moderate and most people don't understand why I am having surgery - but for me it is worth it! I took years to decide whether to go ahead with this procedure, and in the end my question was answered by asking one simple question - will I ever be at peace with my nose and like the way I look? For me the answer is no. I know that my insecurity about my nose is never going away. But if you ask yourself that question and the answer is yes then don't take the risk. Hope that helps xx

Go for it! Dr. G is absolutely amazing. You really can't take other peoples opinions too seriously (mine included) -- they're not you:-) I had my surgery in late April and already I feel like it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. Such a silly thing to say but that's how I feel. I only wish I'd done this years ago...

I'm a person that I have a problem with my frontal after a primary rhinoplasty and I have spent years contemplating about a revision but I would like to tell you my own humble opinion. Your frontal looks perfect. I'm kinda a perfectionist but I really like your frontal. Your bridge is not wide and your tip fits to your face even if you think it's bulbous. It's really very subtle the change you want to achieve. Maybe it's other psycological reasons that are making you noticing this tiny thing but my advice is really try to judge correctly. If I had your nose I wouldn't touch it at all and I'm saying this after being obsessed with shapes of noses. All best :)

Your nose looks good to me. The bridge is ok. The tip may need some refinement if that's what you wish. Find a surgeon that will be conservative because you have a good looking nose already. Good luck! :-)

I think your nose looks amazing even without make up! But I see what you're talking about with the **very slight** bulbousness. Personally I would still love to have your nose. However, it's your face and if you really feel like it's something you have to do, I would save up some money so that you don't have to worry about loans. And then if you still feel like this is what you want to do once you have the money, then go for it. Just make sure to emphasize to Dr. G that you want it to be very CONSERVATIVE because it's easier to take away than build back up.
