ORIGINAL POST

Finally my long awaited procedure in on the books!...

ButtonBlue
WORTH IT$7,500
Finally my long awaited procedure in on the books! Like many of you out there, I have hated my masculine nose and what an awful profile I have had. Coming up on year 35 and I decided to do something special for myself and get my rhinoplasty! Going with Dr. G and hoping to get a December cancellation.

Good luck hun, I am 1 week post op and I am super excited to see my new nose after the dressing removal next week. I also did this for my "30th" birthday. I went with Dr. Jarrah-Nejad. So far I love what I see. The recovery is great. I have experienced little to no pain. It's just hard to sleep only on your back. Look forward to seeing your pics. ;)

Thanks Jen! Any tips for me? I'm so crazy excited. I divorced three years ago and am now happy to be spending money on myself. I have a 4.5 yr old son and since he's come along I've become frugal!

You should be fine with him being there with you. I hope you will have an adult there as well to help look after him.

The day of surgery, you probably just want to sleep. I took a Vicodin before going to sleep when I got home because I was afraid I was going to wake up in the middle of the night in pain. But, surprisingly I didn't. I haven't had to take any pain meds since that one time. I've been able to get around the house just fine. I haven't really had much of an appetite, I just eat enough so I can take the antibiotics and prednisolone. Having the splints in my nose makes it really difficult to breathe when sleeping. My boyfriend said, I snore now. Lol I found it easier to sleep with one of the airport traveling pillows that goes around your neck. You have to sleep elevated (I use 2 pillows) and the traveling pillow helps support your neck and make it a little more comfortable.

As far as my face, I've had little to no bruising and light swelling. (Make sure u keep icing your eyes a few times a day).
Time off of work- I requested 5 days + weekend which makes 7 days off for me. But, I think I will have to take at least two more days off. Dr. Jarrah Nejad decided to keep the cast and stitches on until day 9. He said, the longer the better.

This has been a very easy going experience, let me know if u have any questions. I look forward to seeing your pics.

Your nose looks really good! I just had my surgery today and I cannot breathe through my nose at all. Did you have this problem?
January 29, 2016
Yes I couldn't breathe through my nose until after the cast was off. Then it was VERY swollen it was hard to breathe up until a couple days after

I'm adding some before pictures because I definitely enjoyed seeing everyone elses. My main concerns are the hump, my huge nostrils and the bulbous tip. It's angled sideways a bit too so it would be great if Dr. G could straighten that a bit. Ultimately I'd like to feminine my nose. To me it looks very much like a man's nose.

I am 6 days post op and so excited to have had my cast removed yesterday. I too wanted to a more feminine nose as well as wanting to breathe better. I had a severe C-Shaped Deviated Septum with enlarged turbinates. You are in great hands with Dr. G! My original surgery was scheduled for January 19th, but they had a cancellation for November 9th. If you want to get in earlier, keep calling weekly :) I think that helps. You are already gorgeous and I know getting your nose done will make you even more beautiful!

Thanks for the advice!! I'll give them a call Monday too! I also have a deviated septum and looking forward to breathing easier eventually. Good luck on your cast removal, hope you're thrilled with the results!

Your welcome! I had my cast removal on Saturday. I have a really good feeling I will be thrilled. I am just trying not to make any judgments about my nose being only 6 days post op. I do feel piggy/avatar but I know that will subside :) Good luck on getting an earlier surgery date!

How was the pre-op with him? I can't wait to see your results :)

It went well! He basically reviewed what he would do to my nose, which was everything I disliked about my nose. He took pictures as well. I can't wait!! 11 more days left!
