Tip to me still seems pointy, big and my nose long

So after continuous emails with Dr. G I also decided to post a Realself question about my nose and asked other doctors if my nose would in fact look piggish if it was shortened anymore (like Dr.G claims). All five rhinoplasty doctors that commented said my nose wouldn't look piggish and one even made an edit of my nose now and how it could be, the edited picture was exactly what I wanted Dr. G to do originally and what he said he could do. Obviously I did not get that result. I emailed Dr. G the picture expressing that was what I wanted and asked when I should see him next for a check up... all he said was he can't do anything for my nose for two years....
Ladies wanting to go to Dr. G he is a nice guy but is not the surgeon for everyone. I paid $13k, did not receive the result at all or even came close to what I was told I would get and when I expressed my concerns/ disappointment Dr. G ignored it, blamed my camera, and said my nose was perfect (obviously he would say that,he worked on it).
Girls do you research, find a doctor was has the aesthetic you want/ love and good luck to you all. Not sure what my future holds for my nose and I. Pretty cash poor now lol no 2nd revision in my near future as of now. Also don't see myself driving 8 hours to see Dr. G for any checks. If you can any questions feel free to ask.

hi babe. i hope you don't mind me saying but i am so glad you didn't get such a tiny nose. i see what you are saying but you have the loveliest angle and infratip! mine was amputated by another surgeon and literally i would LOVE to have your nose. maybe there is another surgeon who can help you with your front issue. i had a very good revision, but it's still a bit short in the front for my taste. i love noses like yours and I think yours is lovely. sorry you are unhappy though. i completely hope you get things to your liking. i hope you don't feel i'm being rude in telling you how lovely i think your nose is in many ways.
January 27, 2017
Thank you so much. Your not rude at all. Waiting 8 years for a revision I guess I had so many hopes for this nose to be perfect so feeling like my nose is still big makes me feel disappointed. I do agree my profile is nice but the front view especially when I smile will always kinda bum me out. I'm glad someone else can find the beauty in it that I can't. So sorry you had your tip amputated that's must have be mortifying. I love your new nose it's so cute! Your doctor did a very nice job.
January 27, 2017
I understand. You just can't see your beauty, but if you had a short nose, you would lose some of what makes you like your face. You will be totally okay, but just be careful with wanting to remove your columella infratip structure, even if you find a surgeon who can do it, it's not a great move for noses like ours and mine looked so much like yours does now, I wish i never went in for that other surgery. thanks for saying mine is cute, i think my surgeon did a great job.

@girltown!! I know... that is what I think. She looks AMAZING!

The deprojection that you are showing in the edit is the same expectations I had anticipated from my revision with Dr G. Raising the tip (increasing the angle between the lip and nose) would indeed look piggish (raising it up), but DEPROJECTING it as you have shown (bringing it CLOSER to the face) is exactly what I also wanted. My tip is still over projected from the side for my liking, and the front is not refined enough for my taste. He charged me $14,500 for my revision plus I paid for my flight, stay, and nurse :( girl trust me I completely understand. I won't be able to afford another surgery for years to come. I waited 3 years for my revision and I was also excited to get the refinement I desired....

I think the reason Dr. G wants to wait 2 years before doing a revision is that he wants all the swelling to go down. You still have swelling that is evident by your frontal photos. I was linking for a link here on realself but I cant find it now; it is about a women loving her rhino results for the first 2 years and then all of sudden she developed issues with cartilages very prominent and visible on her nose tip. what happened was that it took 2 plus years for her swelling to go down and then issue became noticeable. My 2 cents, please wait it out, do some lymph drainage massages and if after 2 years you are still unhappy then consider revision; revision is more risky then first rhino.
January 27, 2017
here is a link of a face & neck lymphatic drainage massage that I follow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H9YrjCv8BI in case you do it please be extra gentle on your nose as it is still healing.
January 27, 2017
Also a bigger chin will make the nose more in sync with the nose; something if you want to consider but I think you are looking great as of now.
January 29, 2017
It's such a shame as he is a great doctor, but a dismissive attitude will not get him anywhere. You are well in your rights to want revision as your expectations are realistic and achievable which have been confirmed by 5 other surgeons. 2 years is a long time, I thought surgeons looked into revision at 1 year- I might be wrong. That's what I love about Lucian Ion in England, one patient had a small concern with his results and when he posted it on realself everyone said he was crazy and had a perfect nose. When he shared his concerns with Lucian Ion he immediately offered a revision. I hope you get it sorted asap. Good luck x

Realselfers help!

Unhappyrevision13
So I was waiting to bring up my concern with my nose in person with Dr. G but I couldn't wait any longer so I decided to email him. I will post pictures of my emails with Dr.G. I feel he is not understanding where I am coming from or he is completely dismissive that my nose still has a problem and he is my last surgery. I sent my graduation pictures of my nose which look awful/ droopy tip. He didn't say anything about that but when I send him pictures of me not smiling he thinks my nose looks great. I am still not happy with my tip and he tells me all the reasons that he can't lift it anymore and I just don't believe him. I need some insight of what I should say back. I can't be that kind my nose still has a problem I just can't believe he doesn't see it.

Looks great in the photos . Maybe the problem is that he didnt cut that muscle that makes nose droop when smiling? You should ask him about that.
January 21, 2017
He didn't cut the muscle and every time I asked him in the email why he didn't do it he ignored me.
My nose doesn't look that bad when I'm not smiling but how droopy my tip looks when I smile is the problem.
Should I message him back and say I want something done either shorten the tip some way? I don't have any fear of looking piggy cuz my nose had always been so big and long, I'm over it.

Im sorry i didnt look at the photos or wmails before writing the comment . I see he has already cut this muscle. Hm. Hes right about all the things he mentions . Your nose actually is perfect for your face right now as is. I can also see def your concerns about the tip dropping . The only thing i can think of is a tongue and groove, but you sometimes have to be careful because that involves stitching up the columella to the septum, it can cause your nose to look to short from the front, but you can ask .
January 21, 2017
Honestly I think you have a nice nose and I wouldn't touch the columella if I were you or wouldn't even raise tip more I think ur nose suits you it looks nice and natural. You should be grateful he didn't take so much off trust me my doctor took away with out my permission, but it is ur choice just letting u know it looks nice :)
January 21, 2017
you are beautiful! and please wait, it is only been 6 months since your surgery and you still have swelling that can take a year or even longer to subside. Please dont do any unnecessary revisions too soon. may be you can find someone experienced in lymphatic massage to help subside your swelling faster. Also, please look into your sodium intake, we ingest too much sodium and way less potassium , resulting in our tissues holding in water. I am saying all this from experience.
January 21, 2017
I must say you have beautiful eyes and eyebrows! I'm jealous I wish mine were that full naturally. And your profile is lovely. But I can understand the frustration of not liking how your nose looks when you smile.

i just wanted to comment on this because it seems like a lot of people don't see where you're coming from & what bothers you (no offense to them), but being where you've been, i can totally get it. mine was my first rhinoplasty, which resulted in a droopy tip (which was the one thing i said bothered me the most) & then flared nostrils, which i never had the first place. it looks super harsh on my face now & it's honestly really upsetting to spend a lot of money to get results you don't like. my doctor also said he "couldn't lift the tip anymore", but i've consulted with a few other surgeons who said that's not correct & one even said my original nose looked better than the one i got as a result of my surgery lol. sorry this is so long, but i just wanted to let you know that i feel for you. hopefully you can talk him into giving you the nose you want. i actually found your review because i was considering him to do my revision, but i'm definitely reconsidering. you look gorg either way tho!
January 26, 2017
I'm looking into Reconstruction Rhinoplasty. My nose is more bulbous, crooked and makes a squishy nose when you press on it. It's been at least 9 years so I'm beyond healed. In pictures you can see a shadow where the bulbous part is crooked and protrudes. Of course I went back to the doctors and he tried blaming it on the way I healed. There's no way my nose would be BIGGER and crooked after getting it done. I'm beyond pissed every time I think about it and I do not get my picture taken very often. At least own up what your mistake.

I had surgery exactly on year ago by Dr G, I'm not happy with my nose. I need a revision. I now have functional issues which I did not have before and when I question him regarding these issues he totally ignores my questions. I've tried asking multiple times re these issues via email. He gives same answers to me and says just wait for swelling to go down. My nose is uneven, the left is noticeably different to the right side still at one year. Not happy at all.

A professional picture taken at graduation. I will definitely show this picture and all the other pictures to Dr. G. Not sure how he will talk his way out of this one trying to blame my iPhone when these professional pictures show my nose flaws. My nose still droops a lot with the columella coming down way too far making my nose look like a V. I hate it. It's now January so this month would be my 6month check up but I'm not planning on driving 7 hours for him to tell me that I have to wait. Still comtemplaying going in at my 8month check up and asking him if he will do anything to fix the tip. If anyone has gone through a similar situation where they went back to their doctor to fix their nose after having surgery with them please let me no if you had to pay said doctor again. I keep reading reviews from Dr. G other patients all of them feel like they have a pig nose or love their nose while mine over here is still long and droopy tip. Dr. G is known for giving everyone the same cute girl nose yet I didn't get it... what the hell lol

Girl I did not get it either.... my nose is still overprotected and the tip still needs debulking. I'm almost a year post op and not too much changes after the 6 months mark, besides slighttttttttt reduction in swelling (since we had revisions)... I'm sorry to sound like a Debby downer but I just know what you're going through with the situation. We did not get what we paid for. I paid a little more than you.... smh. The nose does not take away from our looks, but it's disappointing is all I'm saying... especially when you save up for something and have high hopes based on other results from that doctor :/

On a positive note, your graduation pics look beautiful and congratulations on graduating!!!! :)
Please let us know what he says about the pics because he also told me it was my iPhone camera. So I would love to hear his response to the professional pictures....

Thank you! Your not being a Debbie downer at all. Feels good to have someone say how it is and be realistic about the situation. Dr. G said my nose will increasingly get better with time and it's been the opposite. I'm sorry your in the same situation as me but it makes me feel a little less crazy that I'm not the only one who didn't get great results with Dr. G.
I will definitely post an update when I see Dr. G again. Can't wait to hear what he has to say lol

I am still recovering. I had a revision with him Dec. 26. Although my nose looks better than before, it is still has flaws. Instead of a bump on the top, it has one on the side. I know I am still early but the first thing I noticed was that I didn't look piggy at all. So I am a bit worried that it will drop a little more and be droopy. The tip is very round and I'm hoping it is swelling and goes down more. From what I know of, most surgeons will redo it and you pay for anesthesia. That had better be all, if any, you would have to pay. I am also surprised with how different my profiles look from each other. One side seems longer? Anyway, I feel yah, it seems I'm not suppose to have a great nose! Keep us posted on what he says. I am suppose to email him at 4 months to let him know how I am healing and pics of what it's looking like. I'll be anxious to see what he says.

Hi...mine has been seven months and my nose is droopy as well...especially when I smile. So sad about that because I never smile now and I always felt that was my best asset. My doctor said the depressor septi muscle causes the droop when I smile so he is going to cut it when I go back to him in late March. I sure hope it works and lasts.
