My nose is getting slimmer (bridge and tip). It looks very elegant, but I am a little freaked it will look "too skinny" with more time. Dr. G said he felt that there is a lot of water/swelling on my tip. I keep breaking out on the highest part of the bridge, I don't know why (?) I barely have visible pores there. It's annoying. I am very happy I went forward with this revision. I look at my primary photos of myself from past (primary)-- uggh! Here is a YouTube video I posted today, showing multiple angles of my face (subject is unrelated to this...lol). Feel free to PM me if you have questions. Be strong and good luck with your journey. You nose looks so beautiful! I wish I asked like you - long and skinny no supratip break. Mine is too nostriley:(. Long and slim noses do look very elegant.

Hi Lavana, I actually think the upturn/supra break looks lovely on specific face shapes... including yours! I unfortunately have a really big head, and wide jaw, so its tricky creating 'balance'. It looks like that your nose is straighter & "more centered" post op with Dr. G from the pics. One thing that I think about, but I refuse to obsess about is that over time my nose tip will continue to droop down-- and look much older. I think having a gap between the nose tip and top lip, makes people look younger. I was thinking about getting botox on my nose tip (to push upward)... but I chickened out. Give yourself some time, if you can. 9 months is too early to seek a revision, in my opinion. I hope you find what you are looking for. Thanks for your kind words.

Thank you, Vita. I am actually over a year and half after surgery. I am going to see Dr G next week for my first time since cast removal. I don't think you need to worry about your tip dropping over the years. I think it is more for those people who have big noses with big tips but your tip is small. I think it will hold up. It is probably like boob - large ones sag with age and small ones stay perky lol. As for the gap between nose and lip, maybe I misunderstood you , but the shorter distance is considered youthful as long distance is a sign of aging. A procedure to shorten the distance is called lip lift. I have been following the lip lift section on realself for a while now as I am considering this procedure myself.

It's funny, I didn't realize the shorter nose/lip gap was considered youthful. I thought the opposite! Just shows, it's all perception. I never heard of a lip lift... wow! I like your saggy nose/boob explanation. That gave me a good laugh. Well good luck at your Dr. G appointment... I hope you find a solution that's not too pricey.

I am happy how my nose has taken shape. It has been 10 months post op, and I have an appt with Dr. G next month to check on everything. There is a small dent on the top/center of my bridge, but it is only noticeable when there is "down-light" (note this dent used to be on the right side, a result of my primary surgery), it moved to the center after Dr. G fixed my deviated septum-- breaking nose, and bringing bones closer together. It is weird but I have been getting a lot of acne in this area. I am not sure if that is because of wearing glasses lately or skin healing(?) My profile is VERY straight. As you can see from my latest pics, I have good & bad angles... but that's life! LOL. I have NO problems breathing, this surgery improved it! Last night I had a very salty meal, which may affect the puffiness of my nose/face. I think in these photos my nose tip looks more bulbous, but face-to-face it has a very natural look. Lately people have been commenting that I look like Natalie Portman, which is a nice compliment. The tip droops down which is what I wanted-- Dr. G really wanted to give me an upturn, but I said "NO". I think I look like my old me & that makes me happy :)

he did a beautiful revision. how did you explain what you want it? did you sow him pics?

@napleskitty thanks for compliment. I did provide images right before surgery (salma hayek & natalie portman) & doctor was concerned my bridge would look "too thin". But because he was ALSO fixing my deviated septum & shaving, rebuilding bridge-- I was afraid it was going to look really wide with all that work. I signed paperwork that he was allowed to take/use ear cartilage if needed. He said he would use thin spreader grafts using my own cartilage to avoid an "inverted v", so that the nose does not collapse after shaving the hump (& gives a smooth slope to the nose). Look up "inverted v" images if you don't understand. I think my profile, looks straight. Face-forward, my nose tip is a bit bulbous when I smile but it was like that after my primary surgery (scar tissue formed). Overall I think Dr. Grigoryants resolved my biggest issues.

Thank you so much for sharing your tips with me. I am still undecided with Dr G. He is amazing with primaries and I have seen beautiful results with revisions, but sometimes I have doubts. I am so glad it worked out well for you. Keep us update.

Good angle, bad angle, every day is different ?!?

Last week, I felt my nose was looking too skinny. Today I woke up & my nose looks huge (especially tip). I did eat salty tamales & a massive plate of spaghetti late last night... so may be it is sodium overload? I am not liking how my nose looks in photos, but it's way better than previous. I filmed a YouTube video, unrelated to Rhino Journey & I intentionally tried add a little shadow to my bridge. My friend is gorgeous... so I have nose envy. LOL. Anyways, after watching the footage, I thought my nose looks crazy skinny ?!? Oh dear. Anyways, I am sharing the video link. Please be respectful & avoid commenting on my nose via YouTube-- 2 different worlds! Haha. https://youtu.be/SlxbizPH59w

Thanks @Lavana2017 ! I appreciate the compliment. "Looking natural" was important to me... so it's nice to hear that from a stranger.

Looks great! So happy for you! And you’ve lots of healing yet still to come!
User Avatar

Thanks @NCBC. Yes, that's what my doctor says "lots of healing" to go! Have you seen the conspiracy reports about Melanie Trump's body double? And the news is focusing on her nose (differences) in photos. Makes me laugh... because it's crazy how a nose can change the overall look of someone, even subtly.

Thank you @girltown , you understand the struggle! It's nice to not obsess about my nose, every time I look in mirror. I haven't felt this comfortable since my birth nose (circa 2008)!

You look great! Do you mind me asking - did you use rib during your revision? Thanks!
User Avatar
November 17, 2017
@Samo1234 Before the surgery I signed a waiver giving permission to Dr. G to use ear cartilage. However, Dr. G said that upon shaving the hump, he would try using my own nose cartilage to try to reconstruct the overall bridge.. & had enough. He didn't need to use more to make a graft. Thank goodness!!
November 17, 2017
Oh that's so great! I am looking for a revision specialist and will probably need rib. Would you recommend Dr G?

Hi @Sam, I think you should at least interview 3 doctors & see what is their surgical approach. I had a consult with a doc in Beverly Hills & he had a super fancy office on Rodeo Dr. & he insisted he would need "rib" (so each Dr may advise differently). I think Dr. G is very skilled, but he has a "look" to his patients-- so you need to communicate exactly what you want through pictures. Take your time in consults, even if you feel rushed, take a list of questions/concerns. I think Dr. G was the least flashy of all the docs I visited, but also was honest & he did not oversell or over promise... which in the end made me feel more grounded.

Thank you so much for your reply. I have such a long list of doctors, a few in berverly hills. I guess I just have to go to consults and go with my gut. Glad it worked out for you - thanks again!
