When you have gotten bullied and made fun of did to your nose you are never going to be satisfied with it. Ever since I had memory I remember people always made fun of how big and bumpy my nose was. Then to top things off when I was about 10 years old I broke it :( there came a point to where I was breathing through my mouth because of it. I remember all the headaches and pain I went through as a teen. When I finally hit 15 my mom decided to take me to a surgeon to open up my nostril so I can't breath. The surgeon also said he would try to lower down the bump as much as he could. He told me that I was going to grow still and that my nose could change. He pretty much did a closed Rhynoplasty procedure. As he predicted I hated my nose still !!! I am having surgery in a couple hours and I just can't wait.

Finally done !

Kandiie1228
Hello Everyone, my nose was finally completed today at around 1pm. I'm feeling extremely dizzy and throwing up blood pretty often. They gave me nausea pills but they didn't work for me. I really can't keep nothing down my stomach at the moment, so I am doing the best I can to get better. I feel some discomfort but rarely any. I am just terrified that my throw up will come out of my nose :(
I don't have much swelling or bruising but who knows tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip, I'm sure my recovery will go well. I am just really nervous that my throw up goes to my nose. Especially because I have been trying to eat to get rid of the anthesia.

When I had a rhino revision they injected med that prevents nausea prior to surgery. It worked fir me and didn't feel nauseous when I woke up. I hope you have a smooth recovery. Looking forward to reading your updates.
March 5, 2015
They didn't do that for me :( thanks a lot, il be posting updates soon.
April 6, 2015
Yea, you have to specifically ask them to administer anti-nausea drugs with the IV anesthesia prior to the surgery. It does help a lot.
March 5, 2015
Hi. It looks like he did a closed rhino. So far, it looks GREAT. Really straight and softened from the front view picture already. You don't need to be scared if vomit comes out if he did not work in there and if there are no internal sutures. Even, if it does, ask the doctor how to SAFELY clean it. I used q-tips, warm water, and diluted hydrogen peroxide.

@Kandiie: *scared of vomit coming into your nose unless Dr. G worked in your tip, I should say, and it looks like he did not. you don't need to "get rid" of the anesthesia. Please be aware over the next month you may feel a little stressed...putting put under is sort of like your body being put through a marathon without you being awake for it. What you can do is drink some Gatorade or juice (really helped me). Arnica gel will help with future bruising, as will ice packs, but don't quote me without asking Dr. G. If you feel a little uncomfortable for a while...it's swelling and don't need to worry. After the cast removal, it might look a little bigger as the nose unfolds and takes it's final contour (or not! In a closed rhino, possibly not). Like a butterfly having come out of is cocoon. It looks so good right now, though, I hope this week gets easier and easier.

@Kandiie: also, on the likelihood you have to sleep propped up for a while--I found rolling a towel or blanket under my neck was a lot easier than pillows.

Hello Irsi, I think he did the open Rhino. Dr. G worked on my inside and also on my tip. My bottom tip is open, and I need to be carefully because I'm cut. But regardless I've been drinking lots of liquids to keep my body hydrated. I also cleaned around my nose with Hydrogen Peroxide but nothing directly. I've been walking here and there so I won't get blood clots. I am also very swollen at the moment and it makes it a little difficult to see. Thank you for all your feedback, I will definitely try drinking more Gatorade and juice to see how I feel.

@kandiie1228: So annoying about the site "bugs"- I didn't even see you had replied to me. I found drinking through a straw and swishing the liquid around, including up to my throat, really helped wet my mouth. Popsicle and ice helped too. Please be aware you're probably going to look a little gnarly when that cast comes off. I did. It took a week to get a nose, and then, by about three weeks post-op, I'd notice the nose would look DRAMATICALLY different depending on the time of day. Water balloon in the morning; and then, by about 1 pm, like a regular nose. It Fluctuating on and off. It settled down by 6-8 weeks. The physical discomfort of swelling and any anti-swelling treatment Dr. G has given you (like Prednisone) may make the nose feel bigger than it actually is and may make this more stressful than it should be--know that what you see in the mirror isn't nearly as bad as what others do. I felt for at least a month made me much, much more self-conscious about the nose than I should have been. I realize in hindsight a lot of it was because the nose just felt so heavy. Finally--you deserve to hold your baby, but that nose is settling and will need a month too, so you really need to be careful about keeping him from hitting you from underneath (but I guess 6 months is young). It's no big deal, but at the same time, there are probably internal sutures of your nasal cartilages (not grafts--the actual framework of your nose Dr. G tweaked) you have to be careful of. Good luck and happy healing. This ride may be a little bumpy but it is so worth it.

Day 3 post op !

Kandiie1228
Well today I really feel the stiffness and the pain. It's not so much pain but discomfort. I haven't been eating well cause my upper lip is so stiff & also I'm extremely congested. I noticed that I have gotten more swollen and more bruised. Overall I can't tell on my results and I won't see the doctor until next week. I'm really anxious to see what my results are like.

Sleeping has not been easy. I find myself having the dry mouth and having to drink water frequently. Plus I have a 6 month old son who needs mommies arms :(

Either way I'm super anxious to see my results !

I know exactly how you feel. It will get better soon!

This sucks but beauty is pain :/ do you have any recommendations for swelling ?
March 7, 2015
1) Bromelain (not pineapple juice) 2) arnica gel as a gentle lubricant (do not pinch--stroke this on gently) 3) Time. That's really about it. I'd say cold, too. It really does depend on how much of your own tissue he needed to modify

Thanks for sharing your story, I'm sure you'll be happy! I've had a few procedures done with Dr. Grigoryants and I've been very, very happy with my results. I've had breast augmentation, Lipo to my whole body and tummy tuck. I highly recommend Dr. G!

It's been a month.... Would you please update us? I'm dying to hear how you're doing!

Recovery always sucks. I had my revision done over a year ago and when my son was still under 2. I know the mouth breathing is the worst, especially when you wake up with such a dry mouth. You might want to put a spray bottle or water bottle by your bed to take little sips from during the night if you need it.
