I really wanted to love Dr. Grigoyants. His before and after photos look great and its near impossible to find a negative review on him. I did much research and decided I wanted to have my revision rhinoplasty done with him. I live in Las Vegas and don’t mind the drive to LA. Unfortunately the doctor is near impossible to communicate with. I was very anxious/excited to have a consultation with him via email (his website says he does this all the time) and I felt ok with this option because I had some false sense of trust in him. It’s now been 2 months and it’s like pulling teeth to receive a response. I understand he is a busy man but his lack of professionalism has totally turned me off. He asked for my Operative report which I have sent numerous times with no response. When I ask if he’s received the items, his replies with a simple “No I have not”. I find extremely odd because he received every other email I’ve sent. I explained to him that he needs to scroll to the bottom of the email and open the attachment. His office staff have very heavy accents and it is very difficult to communicate with them also.
I have lost all hope in this doctor and I don’t understand all the positive reviews on him with patients saying how patient and thorough he was because that has been the furthest from the truth in my case. I did find blogs with patients of his being dissatisfied with their nose as he does not seem to be an expert in tip refinement. He does seem to do a great job with dorsal humps and beak like profiles. I don’t feel this doctor is confident is revisions and that’s ok but as a professional, I would expect the courtesy of a response

I heard back from the doctor...

I've already scheduled a consultation with my primary doctor. I didn't know if I was going to hear from Dr. Grigoryants. He responded and told me that upon reviewing my operative report, my primary already took excess cartilage from the tip. He said he didn't know if he would be able to take out more and he would need to feel my nose. That's understandable. Since I've already had my dorsal hump shaved, that's not needed. He said my nostrils can be taken in and my corumnella (skin between nostrils) can be tucked a little. He quoted me $12,500. I was prepared to spend $10,000 for my revision. Being that the surgeon doesn't know if he can even touch my tip, I don't know how he's justifying the cost.

Hi bio81, I hope you are able to get answers ;) you should have been provided a price in the consultation. I need to feel confident in my surgeon in every way and all patients should! Just keep your options and your mind open. I suggest you look for an ENT doctor as they typically perform more rhinoplastys than Plastic surgeons. Most are experts in rhinoplasty. Good luck!

I'm from a different country and I've emailed him twice requesting an online consultation regarding a primary rhinoplasty. It's been months since my first attempt I and still haven't received any type of response. It seems unprofessional and uncaring to ignore and not respond at all.

Hi Sadie!
Yeah, that does sound pretty bad, however I am very surprised as Dr Grigorayants has been very responsive to me. Did you try his website? Try getting in touch through that, because that's how I did- and he got back to me almost immediately. I'll attaching a link- try once more from there. Hopefully, you'll hear from him soon:)
I have my surgery scheduled with him in a couple of months and I'm super excited! I do believe he is a great surgeon, and really hope you can atleast get a consultation with him- don't lose hope already!! Here is the link http://www.vgplasticsurgery.com/ContactUs.htm

I had surgery with Dr. Grigoyants and Yes I do accept the fact that his office is not very professional .Things are a bit messy in his office as he is very busy juggling with lot of patients .His pricing is fair compared to his skills and don't exceptional service and top professionalism from him and his staff. He is not running a famous restaurant to treat us well and make us feel special and show that he cares a lot for us. For him we are just one of his thousands of patients he saw in his life .I had surgery with him and I too felt bad initially and I never even got a call from his office to see how I am doing after the surgery. His consultations are also bit in a rush because he really has no time and his office is always packed .I spoke to the nurse in the surgery room for a while during the surgery day and heard that he does 3 surgeries a day which would make his day very hectic .But he makes sure he understands you and focuses only on important things .Do you want royal treatment from your doctor or a best possible outcome of your surgery from the doctor?Honestly I don't care how the doctor or his office treats me .All I care is did I get the best possible results on my face .Yes the word Possible is very important because not everything is possible and we can't look great just with a rhinoplasty and it times it may even spoil your looks .
Dr.G says what he can do with your nose and that's it.If you think you need more than , go find an another doctor who says he can do what you want but look deep into things and make sure he deliver it which is very important .It is all about the trust you have on his skills . Dr.G delivers what he says but results may vary a little at times with any doctor as after all this is human body with limitations and he is not God to recreate you the way you want or he is not doing some rock sculpting to get you a best ideal nose .
Their are lot of doctors out there and Dr .G is definitely one of the good doctor .I only had experience with him which is good and I am happy that I found him so I can only speak about him but I can't compare him to with any others and say he is the best or worst as I don't know about others .The main reason i wrote this post is not to support Dr.G but to emphasize that don't turn down any doctor just because he was not professional .We need to look deep and understand what is going on .Don't judge superficially by looking at things which are not very important for the outcome of surgery . All we need to care is about his surgical skills because only that can get you the closest to what you want .
Have your goals realistic and Rhinoplasty is definitely a risk no matter who is doing it .So we need to decide if we are prepared for the risk and trust on the skills of your doctor .Surgical Skills are more important than professionalism .
My motto is "If i want some thing badly it is better to try and fail than not to try at all ".At least I will live with the satisfaction that i have tried for the rest of my life .So before you select any doctor or do anything with your body , ARE YOU PREPARED FOR THE RISK?

Hi Jamie Girl! Did you ever find a revision surgeon?
I could be wrong but my guess is that Dr G prefers primary surgeries. His success rate is much higher and so he sticks with what gives good results. Revisions are tough and require a variety of special techniques.
Honestly, I'm surprised any of these docs do respond to email when they are so busy. Their days are packed in the office and OR and so the only way they could do that is in the evening or weekends, which should be their personal or family time. I'm sure his first priority is to respond to patients he has operated on who have questions and concerns and only after that to new patients. Even then I can imagine he gets dozens of new emails per day. Frankly, if I were a PS, I'd tell people I couldn't make a judgment without seeing them in person. But I'm sure he's trying to save people unnecessary expense and time if he really doesn't think he'd do anything.
BTW, it's a little hard for me to see in your pic, but your nose looks very nice to me! You have great features! What did you want to change?

Hello! No, I never did.. I went back to my primary but didn't have to courage to do it. He made me feel as though little improvements could be made so I was bummed. Keep going back and forth.. One day I'm content, the next, I'm not.
You're right about doctors being so busy. Personally, I think email consultations should only be considered for those who are out of the country. A doctor really needs to see and feel your nose before he can get an idea of what can be done.
My nostrils are very wide. Especially when I smile. The tip is still bulbous..
